Use them for 16 oz water bottles, not the heaviest but for the price they work well.

I use these to prevent algae growth in my plant watering 16 oz squirt bottles. They block out the light completely so I don't have to scrub the squirt bottles as hard and long. Now, if I could just figure out how to block the light from the lids!!

The issue of outgassing may not bother some people, but since there are enough people in the population that are sensitive to smells, I thought it would be worth mentioning.Mine arrived with a very strong menthol, "BenGay" smell. Aired them out for two days to allow the smell to dissipate, then grew impatient and attempted to speed the process up by running them though the washing machine, with limited results. I then placed these in my SUV to quiet down the rattling of stored, plastic water bottles. Eventually, after about two weeks, the smell went away.Meanwhile, I purchased an 8 pack from another Amazon vendor which did not have this chemical smell.

I use these to protect my 18.5oz glass bottles I use for distilled water for travel to Mexico, where distilled water is basically unavailable. They protect from “clanking”, and I have not lost even one yet from checked luggage abuse.

The water bottle insulators are made of pretty good quality neoprene but the only issue I have with them is that they are a bit challenging to put on because they are pretty tight. When you get them on, they work pretty well keeping your bottled beverage cold and your hands from freezing.I haven't used them much so hopefully, after using them a few times, it won't be as challenging to put them on.

The only thing I dislike is the funny smell but the fit is good for water bottles and beer bottles the value is very good for the amount of money spent and they are very durable and easy to clean and make a nice gift.
