THE BEST SYSTEM I'VE BOUGHT YET!!!
I JUST installed mine and the instructions on the back of the manual are actually straight forward to read as to what wires go where in the car. (Most reviews saying its super hard is actually expecting the instructions to automatically have their cars wire colors magically inserted into instructions) so ignore that. I never installed an alarm in my life and I got it working the first shot and works like a charm.AFTER you have found your harness colors, the instructions on the very back are very easy. The instructions as to how to program the alarm for horn/chirp, etc is quite grey and not better and straight forward. Its a bit confusing as to the difference in System Options and Branch Options. It explains how to hit the valet button but after that, you're on your own but I will try to explain at the bottomOverall the alarm is a straight forward setup and works flawless. Works at 500ft as stated and does not give me any issues. The orange wire needs to be explained as to what that can be used for BUT I found a much better and more informed instruction for this model off thier website and gives better description... The orange wire is a grounded wire when armed(I use it has a ground kill switch when armed as my car is a reversed polarity system)If you are looking for a great deterent/alarm system that can do it's job at the cost of a walamart party pack of sandwiches, then this is what I would go for and has great add-on features too...Here's the better instructionshttp://www.scytek.net/main/files/download/manual/astra/a20.pdfBTW, the key fob is of good quality and love the chrome bezel around the black. The buttons feel sturdy not rubbery and cheapy like those Bulldog systems. Works like a viper and you can extend the system to phone too. Be sure before installing any alarm system that you know if your car's electrical system is a positive or negative signal system. Don't wanna burn out your alarm while wiring in your car. It does not take a professional to install these so don't let the "I'm a 50 year alarm mechanic and you have too..." mess fool you. Take your time and have a voltmeter ready and you are good. Don't lazy install the wires. Solder them and/or use your butt connectors or the electrical T taps with the female ends on them. Don't go chopping and splicing and rigging "just to get by".How to program your alarm for certain things:Ex: How to set chirp/siren/horn1. Turn key on and it the valet button 5 times within 5 seconds of turning the key to the on position2. Hit the valet button 7 times(or whatever the setting for chirp is) to enter the chirp setting3. Hit the Unlock button on the fob4. Turn key off and the settings have savedOn the list of functions, each button pressed is the count you are on for the setting so hitting the valet button once means you are on number 1 setting and then you can hit your key fob #1-2-3-4 whichever to set it.UPDATE: 11/7/2014Alarm is running strong as usual and no problems. Buttons still have the logos on them and the battery is strong as well(Someone aid there's went out in a week and I found that to be a false comment). The shock sensor has to be the most effective box too. I placed a plastic box on top of the car and I have my sensor about half way and when I laid it up, the alarm warned me, that was awesome.UPDATE: 11/15/2014In the process of selling my car, this alarm provided extremely good presentation. and the buyer was absolutely amazed for such an alarm at the price it is. I will be ordering this exact alarm to install in my 94 F150 soon. I will never look back, I trust this product so much that I dont believe there is any $250+ Viper system that can provide the quality and less price like this one. If I owned a car lot, i'd order these in bulk and replace the stock keyless entry only systems with a real alarm such as this.

Scytek Car Alarm System with Keyless Entry...
I'm giving this five stars but I must start by explaining a defect I found in the first system I installed. I spent HOURS troubleshooting why my speaker siren was so quiet, whisper quiet. And the as soon as I wired up the speaker, it came on and stayed on. I knew the system was working properly because the module (black box) was clicking and the siren was whisper quiet. How I resolved this problem. I purchased an identical replacement for this system. Took the new module (black box) plugged it in to all of the wiring that I had previously done and the siren works perfectly. Conclusion, the contact/pin for the brown wire (siren positive) was defective in the module. I am sending the defective one back. Now on to the five star review. For the price, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. When the doors are opened or the vehicle is bumped, the alarm sounds (loud). For anyone else doing this on an older vehicle with no power locks, purchase a power door lock system for your vehicle first, (TMS® 4 Door Power Central Lock Kit Car Remote Control Conversion w/ 2 Keyless Entry) it's only $29.00. Then, when you install this alarm system, wire the alarm to the power door lock module and use the remotes for the alarm instead of the ones that came with your door locks.

Good system for a good price.
System works as advertised. Instructions were pretty straight forward and easy to follow as long as you know what you are doing with wiring and electronics. I am a former aircraft electrician, so it was not difficult for me. It took approximately four hours to install, mostly because I could only spend about an hour at a time in my car in the Arizona heat. Most of that time was used finding and testing the wires in the car before tapping into them. If you do not know how to use a multi-meter, or are not familiar with wiring you will want to take to a professional to have installed. I gave only four stars due to the fact that everything works perfectly on the system except the led light. I have contacted Scytek and waiting for a response from them. I have checked everything else and the led was bad when received in the box.

Everything works good and I am really happy with both the function and low cost of this unit.
Everything works good and I am really happy with both the function and low cost of this unit. The LED was installed on the dash left of the steering column and glows nearly too bright. The only con is that documentation is bare bones. The end user manual both included in box and at the main website link has the install portion removed. The link for the one with the install portion was found with a link provided by another kind reviewer.Re copied. http://www.scytek.net/main/files/download/manual/astra/a20.pdfIf you're looking for an inexpensive keyless entry with alarm this unit appears solid.
