FBA_11975 Large 1/2" Auto Siphon with 8' of Tubing, 8 feet, Clear

Needed to rack some apple cider and my old method of sucking on the hose to start a siphon did not work well and was not sanitary at all. This pump started the siphon in a pump or two and was long enough to reach the bottom of a 5 gallon carboy. My best purchase during cider season.

This works great. Note that it does not fit into 1 gallon jugs. And, like any siphon, it performs best if the carboy/vessel you are siphoning into is slightly lower than the one you are siphoning out of (I suspect this is why some people have commented that they had to keep pumping it). At 1/2" wide, this siphon is quite quick. I have used it for 5 gallon carboys.It would be helpful if the manufacturer or seller included cleaning instructions. Just used it to transfer oxiclean/water solution from one carboy to next and then sanitized it using potassium metabisulfite with water before use.

This is an awesome siphon. It is quick to use and easy to clean. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because the included hose fits VERY loosely on the siphon and leaks air a little and has come off while handling the siphon and caused me to have to re-clean and sanitize it at a time when I really don't need any extra hassle. That said, I would still buy it again and recommend it to my friends.

This is a little bigger than others and I really like it. Do not use this on high proof liquor tho. Great for wine and meade.

I took it apart and use the pieces as a solid to recycling. The pump. System really did not work that well kept losing vacuum, sucking air down the tubes instead.

I am very satisfied with this purchase. The syphon works perfectly with one or two strokes and is better than my previous, manual syphoning method. For me, this is upgrade from 3/8" to 1/2" and it cut my transfer time from approximately 30 minutes to about 5 minutes. The 8' of tubing is long enough to be cut in half for two tubes although I haven't done that yet. I would definitely buy again.

used once and it broke and I couldn't repair it. Don't waste your money.

The device is great, my issue is with the tygon tube they sent had so many bends in it that it's pretty much useless and hard to keep a siphon going. if you're going to offer the hose that goes with it, can you please use a wider and/ or seperate packaging for the tube so it doesn't make it useless out of the box. they can't have kinks like the one y'all provide.
