Very nice intake
5 star rating I have no complaints about the install minus the plexiglass top cover , once fully installed that was the last piece I lacked putting on and went to install and two of the bolt holes would no longer line up as when you tighten down the box it changes the shape just enough to misalign the bolt holes , past that everything went smooth and it looks great and my truck almost at 300k miles now has a bit more pep in her step ! I would recommend

Looks good under the hood
Install was the worst but I made it work. The hardest part was getting the intake tube over the throttle body and I had to take the radiator fan cover off to give me more room. I had thought it was in the way but soon realize that the rubber gasket that snaps over it was too big and I couldn’t fit it on. I took a razor blade and knocked a bit of rubber off around it and just like that it slide on but was still tight. The one bolt the holds the air box down also didn’t line up with the hole so I drilled it a little over and I was no big deal. If you find that the coolant reservoir is in the way loosen the two 10 mm nuts and it moves a hair. And when you step on the gas it really wakes the engine up. That’s all good product buy it.

Volant Intake
I purchased the Volant 151536 PowerCore intake system for my 2007 silverado classic style crew cab truck, and you should too. This system is CARB certified (stickers included), looks good with new style black top air box, came with new style PowerCore style maintenance free filter, install was a breeze maybe 30 minutes, and that's only because I dropped one of the mass airflow sensor screws in the motor misplacing it. Lol be very careful with these as new OEM replacement cost will set you back 80 bucks. Fitment was perfect no issue with screws on the bottom of the air box as others have stated in their reviews. This should also fit a number of other 2003-2007 GM 4.8, 5.3 Vortec 1500, 2500 applications. Performance gains were noticeable however it doesn't feel like manufacture claimed 5-10% or 38+ HP although I don't cruise around at 5300 rpm's so maybe it does. Last thing worth mentioning is the increased sound. In my opinion no difference at normal economy cruising, but does get a bit annoying admitted throttle. Guess I'll just need to drop a magna flow muffler on the truck to drown out the sound for my next mod.

DO NOT BUY!!!!
Comes with four air-box mounting screws. Instructions say it has four screws. Only has two screw holes. Only one lines up. Volant customer service neglected to reply as I’m sure they’re aware of their own lazy incompetence. Better intakes out there for less money that fit and have reputable customer service behind them. Don’t waste your time or money. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!

Good intake, happy, but..
So the intake came on time, i actually bought a TB spacer from Volant as well that hasn’t arrived yet. intake took about 45 minutes in the dark with a helping hand and just glancing at the instructions. which are very outdated (2014) and kinda suck. overall, packaging was good, but the intake i got looks very different from the one shown. For one, the air tube doesn’t have a Volant badge on it, and the cover for the box is clear and see through plastic with a volant logo which comes with colored vinyl strips (R,W, & B) so you can change it up somewhat. Over all, easy to install, feels like quality, and i have MUCH MORE low end torque on my 2006 5.3 on E85. climbs to 60 much quicker. the intake does growl but isn’t too loud. I’m happy

Installed in a stock '02 Chevy Avalanche
The unit itself is great. As soon as it was installed, I took a test drive, and the power increase during acceleration and passing is VERY noticeable. Almost like driving a totally different vehicle. During normal driving, the truck is quiet. You can hear it breathing better, but it's subtle. When you get on it, there's no mistaking the sound...nice throaty growl. This will be paired with a Flowmaster 50 Delta Flow muffler very soon. Now for the negatives... As others mentioned, the bolt holes for the MAF sensor didn't line up, so I had to use a dremel to widen them. Worse yet, was the fact that the 3 allen head bolts that were to be in the kit (to attach the MAF to the box), WERE MISSING!! Fortunately I had suitable replacements on hand. But the time involved to adapt the MAF holes, and searching for bolts added significantly to install time!! It was very frustrating, and I was more than ticked off about having spent nearly $300, only to have to modify it and find my own hardware to put it together. Shame on Volant for such POOR quality control!! As for the box, I didn't have an issue with the bolts fitting...just needed to diddle with it a bit to get things lined up.Overall, I'm very pleased with the choice I made. I would definitely buy it again. Hopefully in the future Volant will get their act together and make sure all necessary hardware is included with EVERY unit!!

It breathes!
I replaced the factory intake on my '04 Suburban 2500 (w/ 6.0L engine) and I couldn't be happier. It breathes easier, has much better throttle response and you can hear the intake roar when you get on the gas. Shortly after installing the intake I opted to install the accompanying ram air scoop (P/N 35060) and again noticed an improvement in how well the engine breathes. The roar isn't quite as loud when you get on the throttle, but I believe that is due to the fact that the air is no longer creating that pulsating low-pressure sound from behind the fender...it is now almost being forced into the motor by the sizeable scoop drawing the air in. At cruise it seems just as quiet, if not quieter than stock. But step on the gas and you can hear and feel the difference. I have noticed a 2-3 MPG improvement and with gas prices continuing to rise, it will pay for itself in a short time. Very high quality product, install was a breeze. I have already recommended this product to a couple friends. I would buy it again without hesitation.

Quicker throttle response
I bought this Volant cold air intake for my 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe with the 5.3l and I instantly noticed how quick the throttle response is. It sounds amazing too when accelerating. Guaranteed this air intake will get you better fuel economy, maybe not by a lot, but definitely better. Looks amazing too
