Catastrophic failure after 4 years
Catastrophic failure after 4 years. I installed it in a Honda CRV specifically to prevent such issues. The original compressor was working fine, but was 10 years old and I didn't want it to blow apart and contaminate the system that would require full replacement. I bought this and had it installed along with new drier, condenser, etc. It just blew and contaminated the system. Dealer says $4500 to fix. No..I'm not doing that and yes, I could get it fixed cheaper elsewhere, but still not worth it for a 2003 vehicle.I bought this because of good reviews online, but buyers remorse....

So far, so good!
I've only had this fitted for a couple of weeks. Bought for a complete rebuild of the air con system which suffered from the "Black Death" on a Honda CrV mk2 (google black death on this model car and you will find lots of articles). The system had this new compressor, along with a new condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, and complete flush of pipework. What I can say so far is the following.1) I was very well packaged2) Contained exactly the correct amount of oil for the Honda CrV mk2.3) Fitted identically to the compressor it replaced4) Worked perfectly, and quietly.Given this is the 3rd compressor this vehicle has had, and given that there seems to be an inherent weakness in these scroll compressors, I'll be happy to get 5 yrs out of it.If anything changes, I will update this review.Edited 11/11/2020 - This is still working well. Very slightly noisier than when it was first fitted, but still working well.Edited 26/04/2022 - Still going strong and keeping me cool. No complaints!
