Miracles really do happen
Long story but it has a happy ending. My husband and I battled carpet moths for 3.5 years. Actually, we had no idea that the new oriental carpets we purchased when we moved into our new home in January of 2019 were the source of the moths--we thought they were in our clothing. Every night they'd be flying around in swarms near lamps. We swatted at them and put out a LOT of mothballs in the closets. We never got rid of them. Then we moved into another house in July 2022, and when the movers picked up the couch in the TV room at the old house, we saw the telltale holes in the carpet--the moths were feasting on the keratin in the wool fibers. Because the only carpets are in our (large) home are oriental, made of wool, silk, or a wool/silk blend, at once I started to panic, because I sure didn't want to lose another carpet to moths. We first tried diotomaceous earth. It knocked down their numbers, but a week after the DE went down, we started seeing a few moths here and there. I grew frantic. (By the way, NEVER use DE to get rid of carpet moths. You'll be cleaning up DE dust until you die.)A salesman at an oriental carpet store told me about SLA. After unsuccessfully battling those stupid moths for 3+ years, I was skeptical. But I'm here to tell you: I sprayed all our carpets a month ago, and we have not seen even one single moth since then. Not one. They are gone. I waited a whole month to write this review because I wanted to be sure. A carpet moth's incubation period is 8-10 days. Here we are 30 days later--no moths. The scent: Smells like cedar. But that's not a negative for me because it reminds me of my mom's old cedar chest filled with delicate linens. I'll take a cedar scent over a chemical scent. The application: I did have some problem with blobs of white goo falling from the can like others who have written reviews here, and it was pretty regular. I simply stepped on the blob and ground it into the carpet. I know that sounds risky, but it didn't do anything to the carpet. In fact, there is no evidence anywhere that I sprayed the carpets other than the fact that they are moth free. Also, the can says to spray about 3 feet away from the carpet. I started to do this at first, but too much of the spray dissipated. Ultimately I sprayed 18 inches to 2 feet away from the carpet. When we moved into our current home in July, I had a need for another oriental carpet to cover a long hallway. I bought one on Amazon, and as I cut away the heavy shipping plastic, a small dead carpet moth fell to the floor. This confirms my hunch that the carpet moths we originally battled at the old house came from the carpet warehouse, because when we moved into the former house we purchased two large oriental carpets. The moth problem emerged at that time; in the home before that one we had no moths though we had several oriental carpets then too.My point is this: Whenever you purchase a silk, wool, or silk/blend carpet, spray it with SLA the minute you bring it into the house. So we are happy campers. And by the way, SLA is pricey but it covers a lot of square footage. I sprayed 2.75 large carpets (room size) before the first can ran out.I sure hope this review helps someone get rid of these dreaded carpet eaters.

Works well but confusing instructions...
So is this stuff toxic or not? There are very clear instructions not to get it on any fabric that will ever touch your skin ever again...yet you can spray it all over a dog? An alive dog? Can you not pet the dog ever again? I do believe it has cured my lingering clothes moth trouble. I have only seen one in the months since I bought it and it looked pale and confused. Like a mutant. I just sprayed it into corners and onto the wood back of my dresser. Maybe I'll soak a piece of scrap lumber with it ifbI see any more moths. Just be careful.

BEST Moth/larvae Killer ever!!!
Im an antique dealer and am obsessed with my textiles. I LOVE THIS SLA product!!! Nice scent. It actually works. I recommend this SLA Cedar Moth Killer Spray, often. Best value & most effective spray Ive ever used!I bag my rugs in CLEAR heavy duty plastic bags, after they've been vacuumed & cleaned. I spray down the front and back of textile and secure the bag tightly. This allows me to view any potential moth activity and/or evidence the product is killing a potential infestation. It's been so effective. I clean and spray my personal rugs appropriately every 6 months. BUY IT!
