As a doctoral level mental health therapist who often works with trans teens, I am always looking for books to share as a resource with colleagues and parents. The book did not disappoint. The authors have achieved a great accomplishment in writing a book that is appropriate for both healthcare workers and for those without a healthcare background. The book is packed full of useful, well organized information that will be helpful to the most practiced practitioner as well as readers who might not have much experience with trans teens but who are interested in learning more about this amazing group of people. Chapters include "Goals of adolescent development", "Supporting your teen in their gender journey" and "Nurturing your teens resilience" and "Professional Support and Health Considerations". This book will definitely go on my shelf and be referred to often. I look forward to reading other books written by the authors.

Easy to Read
Easy to read and informative. I like that it gives questions and talking points to help me start conversations with my teen about this. It's all new for me and this helps.

Very helpful!
This book addressed pretty much all the thoughts, feelings, confusion, and fears that were hamster-wheeling around my head. I feel much calmer and more organized on my thinking now regarding my gender non-conforming child. If you accept the premise that these teens should be helped along in expressing however they like, then the authors have some good advice. I admit to some eye rolling at the exhaustively parsed labeling terminology. And I was a little taken aback by their mentioning of hormone therapy and surgery as if that was no big deal. But overall I am very glad to have this book - they did a good job of talking about universal conditions of adolescence and how gender issues relate.

A gift for thr ignorant as well as the professionals.
I have always worried (as curious, outgoing senior) how to engage this cohort without offending in my ignorance. With over 50 options in gender identity I was totally confused and cut off from much meaningful discourse. This book is a gift! The authors address all of my questions with straightforward information. I am thankful for that. However this book offers so much more. It takes you inside the world of transgender individuals, their transitions, their families, their struggles, their world. I hope to be a more supportive person having this knowledge. It is all here, in one place for those of us whose ignorance made us less human. Thank you!

Take time and really absorb this book if it is anyway pertaining to your life
I ordered the transgender teen after listening to the Transgender Child as an audiobook. Recently had a family member expose their true feelings about themselves and instead of being ignorant on the subject I decided it was time to get educated on this subject because it’s an emerging topic in todays society and has truthfully been since the dawn of time. I hope If you know someone going through this or yourself you take the time to educate yourself and not be judgmental; it’s scary enough for a transgender child to come to terms with; don’t be selfish and make it about you.
