Superior to Intermatic
Far superior to the all mechanical Intermatic timer. Have several of Intermatic timers, the design and technology is old, switch tripping devices come loose, time setting is not very exacting, prone to gear train and motor failure. On the Tork timer the time is easy and accurately selected and there are no tripping devices to fall off. The switching is done with a relay and is tripped with an electronic circuit, no mechanical parts to fail. The TORK case is all plastic and not subject to rust like the Intermatic. Best news is the Tork is less expensive than the old technology of Intermatic.

Great timer
Replaced a programmable timer. Much easier to set and reset.

Fair product, a bit difficult to install but seems to work well
After much procrastination I installed this timer yesterday to control my water heater and save power/money.The best part about installation is that the company did a video for both 120v and 240v appliances. Installation for these is different, so make sure you know the voltage of the line you're installing on. I ignored the wiring diagrams; the video explains everything very clearly. A couple of problems:1. It's very difficult to secure the wires to the terminals. You really have to unscrew the screw, hold it out of the way with a screwdriver, and really push the bare wire ends under the screws to secure them. So many times I thought I had the wire secured, gave it a test pull, and it came right out. But in the end I got them all securely connected.2. Considering that for a 240v installation, you're dealing with heavy gauge wire with 3 bulky wire connectors, the space given for all the wiring is small. I really had to push everything back into that space, and still the cover didn't fit cleanly. The company might consider adding a few more cubic inches in a future version.Installation took me about two hours. A few bumps in the road, but nothing that's a deal breaker. Anyone with some experience with electrical wiring can do this themselves, but as always, if you're not sure, call an electrician. After the installation things seem to run smoothly. Setting the time is simple (turn the dial till the current time is opposite the arrow), and setting the on/off times is super intuitive. I notice the green power light is on now, so the unit is working, and the red light that indicates current to the appliance goes on exactly at the times I set. I've changed the water heater from being on 24/7 to just turning on from 7-11 am and 6-9 pm, so there's hot water when I need it. In a month I hope to see a power bill that reflects savings from not running the appliance all the time.Overall, I'm quite satisfied since the product and would buy another if I have other appliances that can be on a timer.

Does not work as it should
Because of the way the original timer was set up, 2 hot wires coming into the box, I had to review the video on You Tube several times to make sure that I was connecting the hot wires correctly. Once that was done getting all the wires hooked up was no problem. The wires I connected were 12 gauge, so it was a tight fit. Since the box itself, which is a hard plastic, is in an attached garage I don't anticipate any problems with deterioration over the life of the timer.8/19/2021 After having this item one month and having problems with its power-up/power-down sequence and not working properly (does not power-up again) I found that after I turn power off to the circuit the timer is on the timer resets itself and works properly for only one power-up/power down sequence. Then it quits working again. For some reason, even though the load light comes on, no power is being delivered to that part of the timer. There is power to the #1 #4 terminals but not to terminal #3. Unfortunately, since I'm a couple days pass the return date I can't return this item to Amazon. I'm going to stay away from purchasing any Tork products in the future.

Works!
We had a similar mechanical timer for outside landscape lights that quit working (timer installed in basement). Bought this to replace. Installation was a bit different than old timer so watch the video!! Works great, as expected

Extra work to install
Received the timer. Case is made of plastic (old one was metal). You should be able to pop out the holes for the wiring. No such luck. They had to be drilled out. My husband was afraid if he banged too hard the plastic case would crack or break. Just applying pressure didn’t work. Otherwise the timer seems fine.

Great light timer
I purchased this timer to control lights in a chicken run. It is one of the easiest to adjust time and has worked well. Easy install and durable.
