Q: What kinds of food/dishes each of these salts are best for?

The Black Lava salt I love on salads and eggs. Himalayan great for baking nice on soups. Grey French is on the mild side so nice on sea food. I have not tried the Red yet...for meats and poultry I use Kosher Sea salt.. I like the sea salts as the are very good and do not seem to have a strong salty taste as the regualar processed table salt. The sampler pack is a great way to try these salts.

Q: Whats the grind on these salts?

The black lava salt is the largest, and the red alaea salt is smaller. The Himalayan sea salt and the French grey salt are the finest grain. But none of them are as large as some other Himalayan sea salt I have. None of them are as fine as Morton's table salt. Sorry my answer isn't more specific. I'm not sure how one measures salt grinds.

Q: Do these come packaged in a box ready for gift giving?

No mine did not but they would not be hard to box and wrap.
