Great to see the classic in full definition- a few interesting features too. Played fine on my Panasonic blu ray player

It is A NEW HOPE that theatrical version of this movie will be remastered to 4K splendor.
I recently discovered this visionary movie "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" from 1977 when computers and robots were matters of dream. I watched its original theatrical release and later extended version restored to dazzling 4K quality, and join multiple voices requesting to restore its original theatrical version to the same level of excellence. The original version of the movie was edited brilliantly and did not have later added scenes that slowed the story pace, were boring and primitive. It is available only on bonus disk in the anniversary 2-disk DVD set that displays it only in downscaled small window on TV screen. It is A NEW HOPE that theatrical version of this groundbreaking movie will be remastered to 4K splendor.

Wave farewell to the exquisite texture of film grain.
This critique doesn't delve into the inherent beauty and narrative mastery of the film, aspects universally acknowledged and cherished. Instead, it focuses on a recurring issue in Disney's digital releases of older movies: the heavy-handed removal of film grain through aggressive digital filtering, resulting in certain scene backgrounds resembling static images plagued by distracting digital artifacts. These artifacts, characterized by freezing or floating elements, can be profoundly disruptive to those attuned to their presence, though they may go unnoticed by the casual viewer. For comparison, consider the recent 4K release of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," which faithfully retains the natural film grain of the original, enhancing its visual appeal.Disney's treatment of their classic animated features, such as "Robin Hood" and "The Sword in the Stone," is particularly egregious. In their pursuit of smoothness, Disney often strips away original artwork details and alters the aspect ratio from the original 4:3 to 16:9, resulting in significant cropping of the frame. While this aspect ratio adjustment doesn't apply to films like Star Wars, the overarching quest for visual refinement still impacts certain background elements.
