When I started to use this for the first time I thought it was smoking and the shampooer itself didn't work. But after unplugging it and actually looking at it, the dirty water chamber had about a half inch of fine dirt in it. You have to push the handle in extremely hard to make sure it's all the way in. My second try after pushing the handle all the way in I was extremely happy about how well it cleaned the carpet. The dual brush on the rug scrubber has a lot to do with this I think. It's so easy to clean and empty the dirty water. I would definitely buy this again. Now they need to make a vacuum like this.

Believe Carpet cleaners go hand in hand with owning pets, and this machine did a fine job. Perfect forhomes with 1/2 carpet and 1/2 hardwood. For little amount of carpet we have, still dont want stainsto set in for company to shampoo periodically. Bought for do it myself , and carpet looks great!Would recommend to pet, children and lots of company home. Dual brushes must be secret to a good job.

Could not get water to spray out of the machine. Contacted Hoover Company three times to no avail. There's no one that answers or return calls nor do they respond to questions via their website. Poor customer service. Thankfully, after reading the reviews on Amazon from customers having the same issue we were able to get the handle fully engaged and the problem solved.

So I bought my cleaner and was very excited about it. When it arrived I was even more excited. So I quickly rushed home setup my equipment, then pre vacuumed my floors of my homea then pre treated the floors with a pre cleaning solution. I then let the floors sit 4 15 minutes before proceeding to shampoo the carpet with my new cleaner..... Now 15 minutes has past. I then plug it into the wall and start the machine and begin to use it. It starts to work great! Pulling up dirt like a champion. Then all of a sudden in like less then I'd say on a serious note, 2 minutes of using it dies!!!!!!!!! So I chect the breakers in my home to make sure that it was not them. Then I checked the outlet thinking that hey it could just be that. Then I proceeded to try and turn the equipment back on and it wouldn't do a thing. So I immediately tried to reach out to Hoover Customer service in order to try and see if there was something that could be done. And never received an answer or call back. I tried this for a total of 2 days at least 3 times each day, until I became fed up and then got to a point where I said forget it I am returning this item. At this point I do not think that it was worth my money because the motor was completely shot! I did not appreciate being sent faulty equipment!
