I recommend a pill filler if you’re going to fill all 1000 capsules but you can also do it by hand. The method I used was to run the ingredients through a coffee grinder first and then weigh them to get the right proportions. Once I had a proper mixture that was totally dry, I separated the capsules into two bowls - one for the top and one for the bottom.I made about 100 capsules by hand by scooping the filling into the larger side and packing it down with a chopstick. I added a bit more filling to the top and pressed the capsules closed. My capsules weigh about 0.35-0.40 grams each when full.The capsules are strong enough that you can press the ends together firmly and they don’t crush or crease (when full). The capsules snap closed so there’s less chance that they will open inadvertently. If you have a desiccant and an oxygen absorber, add them in with your capsules to extend their shelf life.This company has many different colored capsules to choose from in several different sizes. I highly recommend putting different ingredients in different colored capsules to avoid confusion. I store my homemade capsules in dark glass jars with labels indicating the ingredients and date of manufacture.These capsules are vegetarian if that matters to you.

I love these capsules!I wanted the health effects of spirulina but cannot bear the taste. So got some powder and these capsules and a capsule filler and tried my hand at creating my own spirulina capsules. Obviously I still need work on my capsule filling efficiency, but I'm happy with the current results.

These are great for taking powder supplements. They're big enough to fill in with multiple things and still easy to swallow.

I love these capsules! They're easy to fill and easy to swallow. I use them for my cat who is impossible to pill. She would spit her medicine back up and start salivating excessively when I tried to pill her without a capsule. I tried hiding the pills in food and pill pockets, but nothing worked. I bought these capsules as a last resort and they've worked perfectly. I can fit all of her pills in one capsule and have some space leftover. She takes her meds easily now and doesn't spit them back up. There are two pieces (a top and bottom) so it's simple to fill. You can also cut the top piece to make the capsule smaller if you want. These capsules don't have any taste and are slippery once you get them wet. They're perfect for humans or pets.

I was hesitant to order solid-colored capsules because I couldn't see what was inside them to ensure fullness or content. I am glad I chose to go with these ones. I still prefer to be able to see inside, but these are really great quality, better in nearly every way. They are large enough to hold in one hand and fill without difficulty. They are easy to pick up and separate into halves to close, and even easier to separate them again and reclose. I recently got a new herb powder that smells like seaweed. I was impressed because, as I went to take the capsules, I didn’t smell the pungent aroma I was expecting. I had never realized why someone would want to pay more for an empty capsule; they are the same size and serve the same purpose. Now I know, these are so much easier to work with, and that saves so much time and frustration. There are also fewer issues with the caps popping open and causing even more work, and the contents can remain intact rather than smelling them. I know not everyone takes herbs that smell, but if you did, this would be a great product to try. I am so glad that I gave this a shot. I still like the clear caps for the ease of content confirmation if the vitamin case pops open. A week's worth of supplements can be an issue all mixed together, and accidents happen. But, aside from the color preference, these are fantastic. They are easy to swallow; they don’t start to dissolve as soon as they enter your tongue and stick. They are so much better than the others I have used before; definitely worth the switch.
