Good Value
I bought this engraver for wood carving. I looked at another one that Amazon was advertising. It costs more and requires an app. I looked at another popular one that has good reviews but costs 3 times as much as this one. Some people complained that engravers do not have enough power, but for very fine work, you need something small and practical. So why did I buy this engraver:I wanted a battery powered and cord-free tool. I have other power carvers for most of the carving I do. This engraver allows me to carve the very fine details of eyes and fits the hand comfortably like a pen without an annoying cord attached. It's quiet with 3 speed and I had no trouble with it doing accents to eyelids and pupils. It comes with a substantial selection of different bit shapes. The grit is very fine also. For me, this was very affordable with a reasonable price. Since I won't be giving this tool a lot of use, as compared to my other rotary carvers, the cost is a bargain. Now, I hope that it will last.Update: I discovered that a few bits do not fit well inside the chuck. I removed the set bolt to make sure of the fit. I determined that a few of the bits need a little sanding to provide a smoother surface. Also the metal on the inside of the chuck may have had a little burr protruding. I used a bit from the set, by hand, to smooth out the inside of the chuck. 600 grit sandpaper smoothed out the bits. This was just a small annoyance to an otherwise well-functioning tool.Update 2: Compared to reviews for more expensive engravers, this one performs well for me. It's still a great value for the $$. I would like one with a little more power, but so far, I haven't found any.

Great All Around Tool!
This guy has pretty much become my go-to for any "normal sized" projects using a dremel type device. Of course I have the full sized Dremel for anything requiring more power but for 90% of my projects, this guy works fantastically. Easy to hold and with variable speeds, this tool is easy for anyone to use for a variety of tasks.Only thing I would improve would be the power button and its placement and button type. Something a bit easier to feel and push would make it smoother for switching speeds and turning on and off. Either a movable switch or just plain a more defined button would solve ny discrepancies. Other than that, it's fandiddilytastic, extra diddily!!

Loving this!
I had a huge dremmel before that I used for glass etching. This one is much easier on the hand and the battery life is pretty great. I used it for about 30 minutes on its charge right from the box and I'm sure it would last at least an hour or more on a full charge. I haven't tested that out yet! So far seems great!

Not much power
OKAY but not great. Doesn’t have much power even when fully charged.

Worked great first time I used it, second time it shuts itself off ALL THE TIME. USELESS.
UPDATE: SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY, BUY A DIFFERENT ENGRAVER.The first time I used this, I was pretty impressed. I put it away, and pulled it out yesterday because I have taken on a project engraving over 50 wine glasses. It's fully charged, I made sure of that. But, as soon as I start using it, with the slightest of pressure, it shuts itself off. Then, I have to wait 2 or 3 seconds before it has reset itself and will turn back on. 2 more seconds of engraving and it shuts itself back off - without fail.I used it once - and it definitely isn't worth the price tag for a single use. Obvious quality issues, and very frustrating and disappointing. I had high hopes for this engraver....I bought this because I was going to take my first go at trying to engrave glass. The package arrived in very good shape, I took the engraving tool out and charged it fully as suggested in the directions. Then, it was time to put a bit in the tool so I could start using it. And we come to why I only gave it 3 stars for the easy to use category - the bits don't just drop in easily - well, they DO drop in easily BUT to keep them in place there's a tiny, and I do mean TINY set screw which must be turned in or out, depending on if you're putting a bit in, or taking it out. A tiny little allen wrench that fits the tiny little screw came with it. Problem is, sometimes it has to be turned out farther than others to get the bit to fit, and since the screw is tiny and very short, sometimes it falls out. I've learned to only change bits on a tray with sides, because if the screw falls out, it is so tiny that it's nearly impossible to find again. I would absolutely change that design and get rid of the screw. I've seen ones where you pull the outside down, drop the bit in and when you release it, it is automatically secured and locked in place. There are also ones that turn to tighten. But this one is very poorly designed in that area. It makes it difficult to change the bits in the middle of the project, and it's just frustrating. Other than that one flaw, this tool has everything and does everything you could possibly need to learn to engrave. It comes with a small set of all different size/shape bits. The bits which come with the tool are rotary bits, per the product description. The bits are ok, especially if this is your first run with the tool and engraving. They do ok, not great, but plenty adequate to learn. Once your skills are honed more finally and you're ready to try a real project, you'll want to have ordered a set of diamond coated bits. It has 3 speeds, and it's worth trying each to see how you do with them in order to decide which works best for you. The tool itself is about the size of 2 and 1/2 or 3 pens together. It takes practicing to figure out how to write with a tool so much larger than the pens we're used to writing with. But, it's very do-able, and with practice it keeps getting easier. I strongly suggest watching at least 3 how to engrave glass videos before you even try practicing for the first time, there are a ton of tips that make engraving so much easier than if you had just dived in clueless. Engraving glass is not as simple as it might seem. You need the right bit in the right size. Pressure matters. I do freehand, and to be successful with freehand, you have to have good penmanship to start with. You have to choose the speed that suits you best, and you need a super steady hand and a lot of patience. The tool will jump causing marks you don't want when you set it on the glass if you don't know how to do it. But after some practice, you get used to it and figure out how it has to be done. I etch wine bottles that we are giving as gifts, and it turns out so classy! This tool is definitely more than capable, the battery run time is good. The tool doesn't get all that hot, even after several minutes of use. The one thing it does do is it v-i-b-r-a-t-e-s in a huge way. Even after I shut it off and put it down, I can still feel my hand tingling. Certainly not the end of the world, in a couple of minutes it's gone. I would absolutely buy this tool again to get myself or my kids engraving. It's user friendly. It does a good job. It's a manageable size. And with a price tag just slightly over $20, it's a great value, too!

Very Gentle Shaping
When I looked at the rpm I thought this would only work on nails at the 5000 speed. I put on the roughest bit I could see and tried it on my nails and the dogs nails. It's size makes it easy to use with great control and it worked great on ly nails, but barely did anything at top speed on the dogs nails. The great part is it's very quiet and does NOT give a tingly feeling for hot feeling so the dog was cooperative, unlike the larger Dremmel and other canine nail tool I have have tried. Hopefully if I can use it every several days I can achieve my goal of teaching the dog to not freak out during nail care. She was a good girl with this tool and that's a big win.
