Seems legit enough
So far seems legit enough.Heat sinks look like they'll be tricky to mount with out shorting something out. And the tape gives me pause as toA) Thermal conductivityB) Long-term durabilityShould be fine for my first forray into stepper -motor music.

Can't fully use it yet
Can't provide a full review yet. For the life of me I cannot find a crew driver that will work on the potentiometer. None of my iFixIt seem to work... Any recommendations?

Good on the wallet, BAD on your mission.
Avoid, avoid, avoid! I attached this to my motor and all it did was buzz... I breadboarded the thing, attached a 1Hz astable multivibrator circuit to the board to verify the driver pattern, verified the wiring.. all appears to be as expected. Just that it wasn't driving my motor.Decided to replace with a TMC2209 and life became soo much easier. Spend a few coins more, save yourself the headaches!

Some arrived unresponive
Ordered this 10 pack and within it only 5 had voltage readings once installed. Had ended up having to order another pack due to this.

Not as advertised
I got these to replace an old A4988 unit that I could not get to output the rated 2 amps. I tried 3 of these new units first one only out put a max of 1.1 amps, the pot would not turn any more, the second blew up, and the third just caused the motor to make a screaming noise and not move at all. Going back the the driver I was originally trying to replace soled all this, so it is not a wiring issue. Also these are HR4988, not A4988 as advertised, although they are supposed to be compatible.

Most worked as expected, there is however a WARNING!
Two out of the TEN did not function properly, not allowing for voltage adjustment.LARGER ISSUE and WARNING!(Accidentally placing a STEPPER DRIVER in upside down, will more than likely FRY EVERYTHING including this connected LCD).For this reason, specifically, STEPPER DRIVERS should be designed with an alignment PEG/HOLE, making installing upside down impossible - this is a simple design change, not requiring fancy resistors or capacitators. MANDAORY FOR ALL MAIN BOARDS AND DRIVERS!

They are not the greatest stepper driver
Far too much dissipation as you get to the higher currents. Much better to use a TMC2209 based driver.

You can't find a better deal for these.
I searched several places and between time and money, these aes the best deal I could find. I'm glad i checked here. Everything came individually wrapped in the foil like wrapping each with their own heatsink.
