i like this version it is based on the sign of the four.the other return of shelock holmes is anthony higgins no version of cona doyles novels but the characters are there. what confused me was the frozen in time thought itwas the same adventure. i do like both. i thought i had not got the michael pennington version. so when it appeared at my addrerss i missed giving feedback. so to the seller thnk you

The Sign of Four is one of the best Sherlock Holmes adventure. You will find in it intrigue, deception and revenge at it's best. A lady in London is receiving every year a pearl from source unknown, one day she receives a note saying that her benefactor wishes to meet and confide to her the reason for these annual gift. Being suspicious she consults Mr. Holmes. As per usual he is more interested by the problem than by the lady, though she does capture Dr. Watson's eye. Murder soon makes an appereance and the story really takes off. Search for treasure, persuit on the Thames, murder by unknown fashion, the first appearence by the "Baker Street Irregular", all of this in one story brought to life by Granada Television with their usual great attention to details in visual detail and exellent cast interpretation. An exellent movie to watch at night with a nice warm drink in hand.

grainy video with artifacts.10/15/2016Downgraded to 2 stars because of the quality of the video.Just bought bluray of entire Jeremy Brett collection because video is superior - have seen some blurays and quality is far better however the bluray is from Spain (english language & english subtitles as well as Spanish).
