Package looks great, makes a great gift for young men coming of age and older men who shave with whatever's on hand. I've been shaving for way too long, have used a lot of different products over the years, and this is without a doubt, my favorite shaving cream.

From the moment I opened this suave vintage-inspired tin, I knew I was in for a shaving experience fit for a Roman emperor.First, let’s talk about the presentation—it’s like receiving a care package from a 1950s Italian barber who genuinely cares about your face. The artwork on the tin screams, “Class! Style! A mustache that deserves respect!” It’s so cool that I’ll probably keep it on display long after the contents are gone.Now, the products themselves. The pre-shave cream smells like a Mediterranean vacation distilled into a jar, prepping my face with the enthusiasm of a waiter presenting freshly made pasta. The shaving soap lathers like a dream, making me wonder why I ever tolerated my old, uninspiring shaving foam. And the aftershave balm? Let’s just say my face hasn’t been this smooth, refreshed, and kissed-by-the-Alps since I was born.The tin even includes a delightful little brush that makes applying the soap feel like painting a masterpiece on your own face. I've been shaving using a dual edge razor for almost a decade. I've tried many products from different companies across various countries. I've found Proraso products to do a nice job for an affordable price. Here's my routine:1. Hot shower while my badger hair brush soaks in hot water.2. Using Proraso shaving cream, first pass is "with the grain" using my Merkur 34-C razor with Feather (Japan) blades (all can be purchased from Amazon). Feather blades are - by far - the sharpest blades you'll find.3. Second pass is "across the grain" (i.e., not against the grain).4. Now that I'm about to shave closer to the skin, I apply the Proraso pre-shave cream. Does a wonderful job lubricating the skin and preventing red spots or irritation.5. Third pass is "against the grain" and using the "J hook method" on my neck (look up Mantic59's video on YouTube to learn how two do this).6. Fourth pass is "against the grain" again using my Gillette Fusion razor for any clean up and the ability to use the little blade on the back of the razor (usually hear my nose). Because this is only a clean up pass, not much is used and the razors last quite some time to reduce expense.7. Cold water rinse.8. Use a pea-sized amount of "444" aftershave gel and mix in a bit of Proraso aftershave lotion. 444 can be exclusively purchased from ItalianBarber.com and is used to mix with a variety of products to help cool the skin (it's basically concentrated glycerin). People can mix it with cologne, other lotions, aftershaves, etc.9. After it dries down a bit, apply some Creed cologne and I'm good to go!This routine takes about 30 minutes, but your skin is worth it and will feel amazing all day long. I don't get "five o'clock shadow" until at least 10pm.

I got this for fathers day last year and I have used this 2 times a weeks since and just now ran out... I DO have sensitive skin and I will say this: do not expect a huge difference between this "white" and other color Proraso products. The big thing is that other sets some with an aftershave splash and this "white" set comes with a balm instead.I do like this shaving cream and I will continue to use it from now on... I even bought a set for my who just started shaving a couple months ago...

Honestly, while I don’t believe Proraso is a good as The Art of Shaving, AOL has simply become far too expensive for the little bit of extra premium feel. Now that all of their shaving creams are $35 instead of $25, that does it for me.Proraso to me is like moving from a 10 shaving cream to an 8. And for far less money and a small noticeable difference it is time to move all in with Proraso.The scent of the sensitive formula is a bit odd but it doesn’t last long on your face. The pre shave and the aftershave lotion work very well. I am quite pleased with all three items in this kit. And $3 less for the kit than a $35 price for just the shaving cream is a good bargain in my book.I want to try the nourishing formula as well. I would like to try the protective formula as well but I don’t like menthol in my shaving cream. I need to smell it first before trying.
