Great for tose needed applications with Tascam products

Radio and recording engineering background.I love the Tascam DR-40X. It is an incredibly versatile and flexible device for portable and field recording. One feature that I really like is that you can phantom power two condenser mics when plugged into the mic jacks on the bottom of the unit.But the down side is that when you DO use it to power the mics, it sucks up battery power at a rapid rate. Reviews claim 16 or 17 hours of record time using battery power and the on board mics. You get a fraction of that with external phantom powered mics. Using this power supply allows you to record as long as you need to in that configuration. You _might_ get away with a good hefty USB supply, but USB supplies negotiate how power is supplied with the cable and device. I tried. This is much better and more reliable - guaranteed 5VDC @ 2A which meets the Tascam recorder's specifications. Pleased to find it at a very good price on Amazon.This is a Tascam branded product, not something that might work with the Tascam recorders

Very nice product. Comes with quick change adapters so it can be used anywhere in the world. Features a charging indicator light to let you know charge status. Very well made! Works great with a Tascam Dr-100mkiii.

Not happy. I sent a request to Tascam for a new block. Hoping it is still under warranty.
