These book ends are nice and tall and sturdy. I used them to keep my rolled sweatshirts from falling off the end if a closet shelf. Works great!

I needed a set of sturdy bookends to hold my heavy, massive kitchen books and various cookbooks on a shelf in my kitchen. The bookends I had would slip when I pulled out a book, and everything tumbled to the floor! That happened one too many times, so I was on a hunt to find anything that would meet my needs.Oh, I was so happy to find these! Tall, large bookends that could handle my 6-lb. books as well as my smaller paperback cookbooks. The Food Lab, by Kenji Alt-Lopez, one of my most-used books, is itself almost 6-1/2 pounds, and these bookends hold it, his Wok book and my Kitchen Gear book, along with many other hardback and softback cookbooks, easily! I can pull a book out and all the others stay in place!These bookends passed my stringent requirements. They arrived the next day in perfect condition. I got the white as they accent my kitchen colors. If you need heavy-duty bookends that need to keep large books in place, I can quickly recommend these to you.

I kept having canisters and food boxes fall off the back of shallow rollout shelves in a kitchen pantry cabinet! Bought a couple of sets of these tall bookends and they solved the problem immediately and completely! Each bookend sits under a canister in the back of each shelf and no more problems with stuff falling off the back of the shelf into the cabinet! Buying more for other such applications. Perfect!

Very strong, bends add rigidity and are not unattractive. Paint was thin or bubbly in one spot on an edge and flaked away, very minor and does not seem to affect the overall products usefulness or appearance.9" was taller than it sounded. I should have looked at a ruler before ordering but I can definitely still use them!

We moved and no longer have a perfect nook for out cookbooks, so they're now on top of a counter. It was making my bonkers that they kept trying to slide off and it was nearly impossible to grab one without a disaster. I'm really glad I bought these- they sufficiently solved the problem. I'll likely get another set for some other books!

The bookends did a great job of holding up floppy magazines. Very impressed with the quality!

I have been searching for bookends to hold my large collection of books, many of which are "coffee table" size art and design books. Most of my books are simply too big for any normal bookends and I was about to order from library suppliers. As a last ditch effort, I asked for recommendations from a discussion board. One member, an art historian with a similar problem, recommended these. They work! And are at a price point where I can order enough for my oversized collection, plus matching smaller versions for my standard sized books.One trick to these is that you need several large and heavy books to act as a counterweight to the horizontal force of the standing books. Smaller or lighter books won't work and they will topple over with the lighter weight. It sounds counterintuitive, I know, but I experimented and discovered that they were more stable with greater weight.
