The long term cost can be so much more
All of these A/M-24's have the same mechanism for automatically inflating. I have two of these vests. One has gone off twice on its own this summer, and one went off once. Just sitting in the truck, or in the boat under shelter. That's about $30 a pop to rearm. The local sailing school owner says he's had a "rash" of these going off.
