Coils were defective from the start
Bought these coils to replace the original coils on a 1986 Mercury 25HP, as 1 coil had no spark. Replaced both coils with these and the engine started up and idled good. Took it out to the lake, and again the engine started right up. Put it in gear and accelerated and the motor fell flat on its face. Had no "get up and go". Long story short, I replaced the fuel tank, all fuel hoses, fuel fittings, fuel pump and rebuilt carb. Even replaced CDI box to no avail. Could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong. The engine ran fine before the 1 coil quit. I decided to start from the begining. These new coils tested at 1450 ohms. Merc specs are between 800 to 1100 ohms. Coils are out of spec, leading to weak spark. Bought used coils from local "boat junkyard" just to test and motor has all sorts of power. Will be returning these coils and buying some higher quality ones.

Almost perfect fit
Stud design is slightly different than stock and does not allow electrical connections to be made outside of red plastic case, causing the case to break. Must install wires inside red case. Works perfectly otherwise.

Got them and one was damaged and both tested 0 ohms duds right out the box ! Returned asap !

Ground bar made it inconvenient for mounting. The plastic mounting case cracked when I tightened up mounting screws
