Worthwhile
I have not been that impressed thus far with 4k UHD...Alien and Terminator 2 look stunning but sadly other pre digital films are not much better than blu ray and in some cases worse..However , my breath has been completely taken away with the quality of A New Hope..This is by far the best quality visually ever released..The sound is amazing too..Half way through Return of the Jedi and very impressed with the UHD..All in all 10/10Thoroughly recommend buying all 3 of the original trilogyA definite upgrade from blu Ray...The quality far exceeds any blu ray release by miles..not just a tiny bit like most other films released on 4k so far.Hope this helps you make.your mind up whether to upgrade or not..It is a definite YES

STUNNING 4K TRANSFER!!
Just watched this 4K UHD Blu-ray of Star Wars: A New Hope. Now I’ve heard a lot of bad things about how this has been processed, transferred or whatever. I honestly haven’t got a clue what most of the technical stuff means but, I thought this looked absolutely fantastic. I have this on Blu-ray and the 4K version, in my opinion, blows it out of the water. It looks wonderfully sharp and clear and bright. The best that this film has ever looked. I can’t fault it.

Don’t be too proud of this technological achievement.
Only kidding. It’s excellent. Recently bought a 4K player and thought I’d start with this disc to test it out. I only had DVDs of the trilogy before so this was a huge upgrade - sonically and visually. It really is a sumptuous treat and will make you fall in love with Star Wars all over again. I’ve not read great things about Empire or Jedi, but I will get them at some point as I love the original trilogy. The bonus features and audio are really outstanding. I think the picture is excellent but I’m going to compare it to films like 2001 before I know exactly how good it is. All in all, I absolutely recommend you picking this up. Great fun.

Fantastic 4k versions of classic films
If you like the original Star Wars films these are a must have even if they do have the stupid remastered scenes in them. The reason is all the extra detail never seen in previous releases, these films are one of best demonstrations of what can be achieved with new 4k scans from original source.-1 star for including the remaster scenes and not the original cuts.

HDR10 lots of the old effects to dark or gives them unnatural edges.
The 4K picture resolution looks phenomenal and this is one of my favourite movies, but…The HDR lets it down so much. I have watched the 4k version of this movie on the 4k blu ray and disney+, and well, the HDR is not great on the blu ray. On disney + the movie is presented in dolby vision, so it seems insane the 4k Blu Ray is only in HDR10 and uses static metadata. Certain scenes do suffer as a result of the hdr grade, e.g. spoiler alert: when Luke is given his father lightsaber and he ignites it and swings it around Obi-Wan’s house, there is a noticeable hard edge to the lightsaber, yet on the dolby vision version, the lightsaber has no hard edge, it is smooth as it should be due to the metadata not being static. There other issues that seem weird like laser blasts in space being overly dark, and skin tones being inconsistent between angles, issues that were not present in previous releases. Disney dropped the ball with this 4k release. They should have released the blu rays in dolby vision, or at least hdr10+. This screams of a corporation knowing that the fans will buy a release of a movie, even if they release it in a sub parr hdr format, only to drive the fans to life-subscribe to their streaming platform to see it look at a compressed version of its best. The choice is uncompressed image bad hdr blu ray or compressed image great hdr. It sucks. To leave it on a positive, the sound is amazing and has been beautifully remastered with dolby atmos.

George Lucas gets more of my cash
I've bought this film on every format. I was waiting for George Lucas to do me a deal and sell me the ultimate edition at a greatly reduced price. Fat chance of that greedy old bar steward. Amazon did me a great price so I now own video & special edition video, dvd, blu ray and now 4k. The movie is great by the way and Dolby Atmos the part of the jigsaw missing. Message to George I won't be buying the 8k version my eye sight cant tell the difference.

Good quality
Very satisfied with my star wars collection I can't wait to start watching them back to back. Last time I saw them was on DVD.. Good quality but not a patch on blu ray.

Great!!!!
This is my favorite Star Wars trilogy in a package of 3 discs, one with the 4K version (if your player does not support 4K, it automatically displays Ultra HD). Fantastic reception. the second disc is the BluRay version and the third is a disc with various interviews and how the film was made is really worth buying for your collection
