So the most important thing to realise is that this is NOT your standard sweet Mango Chutney that you're used to serving with your popadoms and your takeaway.This is an authentic Kashmiri pickle with large chunks of brown mango, pickled with chickpeas in a salty oily spice mix. It actually arrives sealed in a plastic bag inside the jar and you have to open the bag and pour it into the screw top plastic jar. The best before date on mine is about a year away. Fortunately it only needs storing in a cool dark place as the massive tub would take up a lot of my fridge!I tried making Mango Pickle many years ago using an authentic recipe and at that time was expecting the sweet orange chutney that I was used to. What I got was stuff that was remarkably like this, so that re-enforces it's authenticity to me.It's not killingly hot, but has definitely got that salty sweet and sour taste, similar to what you get in Lime Pickle, but it's much nicer than Lime Pickle which I just find too salty and sour.Once you get used to the taste it becomes very addictive and makes a great compliment to your curry

The pickle itself is five stars, it tastes fantastic with large identifiable pieces and a good depth of flavours. It tastes like it is fresh in a restaurant. If you are even thinking about ordering it and like the price, 1KG for £7.49 (which I think is great value) then buy it.It has a BBF date of March 26 and should be stored in a cool dry place.So, why am not giving it five stars?Firstly the advert does not list all the ingredients, legally it does not have to but I think it should, it misses off the E-260, E-330, and E-211.Secondly I decided not to decant it into the tub provided and to use old glass jars. The reason for this is that I found thin red shavings from the lid in the tub. The tub seems low quality and as I looked at it, screwing it on and off, more small red shavings appeared.

Great product. Tastes amazing and is a great sized tub. What more can I say. I love it.Great value.

The media could not be loaded. The product has a very short expiry date. It expires April 2022 and this is February! You expect when you buy pickle it will last for several month’s if not a year!

It was not what i expected but i love it. Was first time buying it and it goes well with my dishes.
