Fits perfectly. Looks great and it is "clear"! I bought this because I am planning to add vinyl graphics to my 3dsxl and I did not want them to get damaged; I wanted a hard clear shell so I could still see them through the shell. I have not applied them yet but it is obvious that this shell is going to do exactly what I needed it to do. It's very clear and fits it so well that it does not move around at all. There is absolutely zero wiggle or warpage when attached to the 3dsxl. By that I mean it does not move nor does it have any gap across the main body when pressed down on, it sits perfectly flat against the unit across the top, bottom, and edges.There are also cutouts in all the proper places, Gamecard Slot, Headphone Jack, Stylus (actually makes it easier to find the stylus in the dark if your using the one stored inside the unit, I prefer the larger pen stylus I got free with my awesome Takecase brand storage case), Power Button, 3D Slider, Volume Slider, & External Cameras,I suggest you take your time when applying, I could not get one corner to lock into place and when I started to get frustrated I knew if I tried to force it i would end up cracking it so I took a deep breath, removed the piece (bottom), and re-seated it on the unit and it went on perfectly that time and locked into place.You will hear a clicking sound when the locking ridges engage and you can also see them, so if they are not engaging, do what I did and remove and retry. It is just plastic and it wouldnt shock me if it cracked with not that much force. As I stated above I got it to protect my vinyl graphics more than I did to protect the unit.It will surely protect the outside from getting scratched and may end up cracking if dropped on a hard surface from a few feet but I'd rather have the shell crack which would absorb and defuse that kinetic energy, leaving the unit ending up just fine. That is just my opinion and I am also basing that on dropping a closed 3dsxl or if it landed on a side or corner. It does not cover the rear/hinges area which I actually like because the Z controls would be harder to press if the case surrounded them, this also means the power socket is not blocked by the case as well. If the unit is dropped when open and it lands face down than the shell will offer no extra protection (hopefully you have added glass screen protectors) as it only covers almost all of the outside except the very rear. It also has little nubs on the bottom so when you place the system down then the shell should not be touching the surface of what it is sitting on.Bottom line for the price this is a must buy in my opinion, vinyls or not, they have other colors, but if you have or plan to use vinyls than you really want this case.

This case is exactly what I was looking for! It's clear so you can still see the original color of the 3DS XL, but it provides good protection without being bulky. My kids tend to drop things, but this case gives me peace of mind. It fits snugly and the material seems durable. Very happy with this purchase!

Its a clear NEW 3DS XL case. Emphasis one the NEW part. People complaining about getting the wrong case without doing research on which system they have.Its not perfect the hinges are exposed so if you drop it in the wrong way you can still damage the system but its still a solid case. Got mine to keep the paint from peeling off my system.

Mine fit perfect. It snaps on easy, and snaps off easy as well, for whatever reason you want to remove it for a bit. All buttons and things you'd need to access are still accessible. It also has little bumps/feet on the bottom so when you place it on a hard surface, it's not going to scratch the bottom up. Helps prevent accidental pressing of the power button.Offers a layer of protection, while still allowing you to admire your 3DS Gen2. Which is the main reason to get this particular case. While it'll offer good protection against scratches and scuffs, I'm not sure it'll offer much in drop protection. It'll help some for sure, but I'd look elsewhere if drops onto hard surfaces is your primary concern. I also expect the case to get damaged in the drop as it's just a thing plastic shell.It's clear so you can still see your system. I'm not going to add any pics, because the pics provided by previous reviewers are fine, but if you like the looks of your system, a clear case is what you need. If you took the time too properly align decals to decorate your system, you're not going to want to cover that up. I just happen to really like the bright green color of mine. Hard to lose it!

Helps protect my 3DS from general scratches. Leaves an oil slick reflection when it touches the 3ds, but cleaning inside with alcohol wipes helps remove the static from the plastic wrap it came in which helped! Doesn’t add much weight or bulk and seems like it will last a while and help increase the devices durability from normal use!

Keeps my 3DS protected and with the clear casing, I can enjoy looking at my 3DS designs.

Serious Review; Puns intendedLike the title says, it's new, it's clear, and it's sturdy. It snaps onto the New 3DS XL/LL and fits perfectly, none of that wobbly bullshit. The hinge is exposed as expected. The edge of the case has a clean cut but a few bits of plastic here and there which you can snip or sand off. Because of the tight fit (that's what she said) it leaves a 'wet' look where the console touches the case. The case doesn't come in a box, just a Styrofoam poach but it is wrapped in a sealed plastic protector that protects it from scratches, you can peel it off before attaching the case to the 3DS. It does makes the 3DS more bulkier but it's worth it for the protection value added... Unless u have a spare $200 burning a hole in your pocket to buy a new 3DS, than this case isn't t made for you folks...
