Great device!
Just got it this afternoon. This product is awesome. Played around with it charging itself, a guide 10, and my iPhone. I love that the film works even with shade obstructing part of the panel or in low light conditions. Things super small and light weight. There are four things I would change. 1. Double the battery capacity with some cleaver engineering inside the housing and make the batteries replaceable. 2. Insulate the battery housing. 3. Removable rubber caps for the input and output ports. 4. The input LED is too close to the input micro USB port. Solarfilm could make these changes and I would pay double.

Did work well for 6 weeks until it didn't.
Functional solar power bank that charges well in direct sunlight. Did work well for 6 weeks until it didn't. 4 stars for the idea - 1 since it does not work anymore. It's easy to carry but since it's not waterproof can only be used supervised. Due to that fact you can't leave it outside when camping or put on the tent to catch the midnight sun while sleeping. Waterproofing would make it useful indeed. While the solar panel looks like solid work, the attached power bank feels rather cheep with the battery rattling inside. A separate waterproofed panel plus an off-the-self power bank would probably be an ideal solution for camping. After 6 weeks of careful usage it stopped working at all. No power going in or out. Shipping overseas for RMA using any parcel service available to private customers is either not allowed or as expensive as a new item due to airfreight regulations on the included (an not removeable) lithium cell.

Perfect for travelling
This is a great solar powered battery. It is small and lightweight, perfect for travelling, backpacking, and a must have for an EDC pack. This will charge most devices and the solar panel is high quality.

What an awesome lite weight chargeable battery pack.
Wow,What a well thought out product in design and function.I purchased this product for its design, small size and lite weight. I am a back county lite weight backpacker and I have been looking for something to help with charging small devices and the LightSaver does it best.It is a compact battery pack that can charge any small device at least once while at camp or during the night. It is a highly durable product that uses a solar film to charge the battery pack during the day, even under cloudy conditions and the stored energy can be used at any time later. You do not use sun to directly charge your phone like most competitors. Because as you know, no or little sun and standard panels will not charge your device. The Lightsaver uses sun to charge the battery pack and the pack charges yours devices concept is outside the box and that is what makes PowerFilm Solar a leader in this field for back packers. The only potential draw back is the ports on the ends of the device does not have a cover or plug in them to protect the ports from dirt and debris from inside a backpack or if dropped in the dirt. How big of a problem this is time will tell during the spring trail use coming up over the next few months. It also would have been nice to have the "system" in a water proof bag but I took care of that. One very nice surprise was the small flashlight, that is charged with the LightSaver, that I received in the mail with the product. It is now my go to flashlight due to it weights almost nothing and it is easily charged with the system after I charge my phone...thanks for a great product.

Doesn't work as advertised
I tried eight times to use this solar charger to charge its battery. Twice on my front deck: the first time no charge (no idea why), the second time got a 10-50% charge (enough to charge my IPhone SE to about 40%) after four hours. On a recent backpacking trip, I got to work once out of six attempts. The main problem seems to be heat. It was quite hot - about 85-95 degrees F - but well within the operating range (115 degrees) advertised by the manufacturer. I twice observed it blinking red/green, indicating overheating, the rest of the time it just stayed red and had no charge. The one time I did get enough charge to charge my IPhone to about 40% was at high altitude when the temperature didn't get above about 75.Update: Lasted all of 0.25 seconds when plugged into 220 volt outlet through converter. Don't know why - never has been an issue for other electronics.A reliable, lightweight solar charger for backpacking is a great idea. Unfortunately, this isn't it.

Ultralight and charges in the shade
Very nice solar charger. For ultralight backpacking, I'm a big fan of the low weight (Is anything lighter?!) and ability to charge in shade.I bought one of the early units and it didn't function. However, the company was very quick to completely replace the unit. This one does the job, so I'm very happy!

Doesn't work
I bought this on a recommendation from a friend. The reviews seemed good but I have to say I'm disappointed in this purchase. The design is great and the concept is great - but the thing just doesn't work as advertised. The battery will not hold a charge.I've left this sit on my porch in direct sunlight for TWO DAYS and the light still blinks that it is <50% charged. According to the product description, it should FULLY charge in 6 HOURS. But after over 12 hours of direct sunlight, it still has NOT charged past 50%. So I tried plugging in to my computer using the micro USB cord that came with the charger and it won't charge that way, either. I don't know if the battery is bad or what but it's VERY FRUSTRATING to have paid $100 for this and it doesn't work. At ALL.This is the second solar-charger I've bought from two different manufacturers that has been a bitter disappointment. Do ANY of these things work AT ALL? Seriously - do ANY of these solar chargers work at ALL?
