Great Battery at a Great Price
Before you read too far. If some of this sounds familiar, I had written a similar review for a battery for my Canon XA10 and did not feel like recreating the wheel so I changed only the information I needed to in order to give my honest opinion on this particular battery. Now, I have read reviews that say your camera wont be able to communicate with NON OEM batteries and you wont be able to see the battery life still left available - HOGWASH. I have owned Canon GL1's & GL2's, Sony VX2000's & VX2100's and NOW the NEW Canon XA10 and the XF100 and ALL of them work/operate/report and perform Perfectly fine with Wasabi Power Batteries. I current shoot on the NEW Canon XA10 and the XF100 and TWO Sony VX2100'sI have used Sony's VX2000 and VX2100 for years. The Sony NP F570 that came with the camera is a smaller battery does not last very long (maybe 1.5 to 2 hrs) BUT this NPF960 Wasabi Power replacement battery is a MUST have. At 3 times the size and 7200 mAh it runs ALL day. Like my other review I probably used this battery 6-7 hrs last Sat on a multi camera shoot without problem. This battery also works great (and allllll day) in the HDV Z96 LED video light.Dont get all worried because I mentioned it is 3 times the size. Your looking at 9.5 OZ instead of the original being 3.6 OZ. I shoot with either a monopod, tripod or steady cam and never notice the extra weight. I have one of these Wasabi NPF960's, 2 other NON OEM NPF960's (Not Wasabi) & 2 OEM NP F570's BUT plan on buying a few more Wasabi batteries soon. I only use the original Sony NP F570 for my HDV Z96 LED video light and as a camera back-up battery. (the HDV Z06 is an awesome LED video /DSLR light - read my review for that too - the review has specs and run times for various size batteries that the light works with)Oh, WAIT - i didnt mention the BEST part. This NPF960 not only lasts 3 or 4 times longer than its smaller OEM original BUT is ONLY a few dollars more. (sorry SONY)Matt - Professional Videographer Since 1993, I am not affiliated in any way with Wasabi - I just think you cant beat them for the price and power.

Initially a great battery but after a few months the party is over.
About 5 years ago, I bought Wasabi batteries to supplement the 1 OEM battery that came with my Sony camcorder. I absolutely loved them. What wasn't to like? They ran my camcorders all day (8 hours), held a charge when not in use, for weeks at a time, they had more capacity than the OEM battery and were only about 1/3 the price of Sony's battery. And 5 years later? I have no complaints. They still hold a great charge and run all day.Jump forward to February 2013. I bought a new Sony camcorder and it uses the same style battery. It only comes with one OEM battery and I like to keep about 3 spares in my camera bag. So it was a no brainer for me to order 3 more Wasabi batteries. And I ordered these from Amazon. For the 1st few months they were great. But now, a year later, they won't even hold a charge for one week, and I mean while they are sitting idle in my camera bag. If I try to use them immediately after giving them a full charge, they will only last 15-30 minutes. I can't do my work with these kind of batteries. All 3 are useless after one year. I don't know if I just got a bad batch but be warned that although I got good results in the 1st few months, they continued to deteriorate after that until a year later, they are useless. I even had an Amazon buyer contact me before purchasing these to get a recommendation. I gave them a big thumbs up! (I only owned this batch for a couple of months at the time). Well I sure hope he got some good ones or else I'll feel real bad that I recommended them. So why 3 stars instead of 1? Because the seller (Blue Nook)stood behind their product and replaced the defective batteries promptly and they didn't give me a run around. I know it's a good product because my older Wasabi batteries are still running strong at least 5 years after I purchased them and they get used for about 6 hours at a stretch most weekends of the year. I probably just got a bad batch.Extra Info: Some people wonder if these batteries will give correct information in the Sony camcorders as to how much time you have left on your battery in the viewfinder. I have many different Sony camcorders (VX2100, PD190, HVR Z5U, NEX FS100). The time has worked just perfect in every model. Where it will not work, is in the Sony charging stations. The station will charge the batteries just fine. But when you charge an actual SONY OEM battery in the charger, it will tell you how much longer it will take to finish charging the battery. These Wasabi batteries will not give you a time indication in the charger.

Good budget battery for Sony cameras.
These are as good as I've found for aftermarket batteries for Sony cameras. Most aftermarket batteries tend to have longevity and capacity issues, and these probably do as well, but not nearly as bad as most of the aftermarket batteries I've tried. The Sony batteries do last longer, but they are also several times the price. Personally I'm willing to sacrifice a little battery life to save a bunch of money. You can buy this battery almost four times for the price of an original Sony.

Great customer support
So I just had a battery go bad on me. It wouldn't charge anymore. So I called Wasabi/Blue Nook 1-800 number, immediately got a live person on the phone, and he issued me a replacement, no questions asked! Great customer support!

Cons: Expensive. Much more expensive than other batteries ...
Cons: Expensive. Much more expensive than other batteries made with "genuine Japanese cells". Which in my experience prove to be fakes.Pros: deliver on promise of power and capacity advertised. As simple as that. Fully compatible with the lights I use.EDIT: Compared this battery with others and 3 AC-to-DC (12V 2A)adapters. When CH304 LED light is powered by this battery light output is double that of when light is powered by any other battery or AC-to-DC adapter. I suspect it means other batteries or DC adapters are just bad and do not deliver goods promised. Highly recommended.
