Entertaining book
First let me say that this is not your usual trivia book. It is not just a listing of facts in one sentence entries, but a brief description of things from World War II. These are very interesting in that they give you a good taste of the events of the War and persons involved. Now it is not an in depth account of the War, but you will come away with some understanding of what happened and who some of the people were in the War. I had only two problems with the book and that was the reference to President Sherman, who wasn't a president at all, and there were a few typos in the book. But if you stop and think about them then you will understand what was meant. I am glad to have read this book, because I found out several things that I didn't know.

WHAT THEY DON’T TEACH IN HIGH SCHOOL IS AMAZING – BUT THIS BOOK DEFINITELY HELPS FILLING IN THE GAPS
Throughout my days back in high school, I had maintained a 93-point average in all of my history classes for three years, leaving me believing I knew all about history as it pertained to things like WWII. But this turned out to be far from the truth since what I’ve been taught did not venture into much of the information contained in this book of WWII trivia by Bill O’Neill. An example of the things I never got taught can be found in the author’s description for his book,What was “Operation Werewolf”?What role did Jeep, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen play in the war?How many people died in the little talked about the Battle of Luxembourg?Who was the “Sky Samurai”?When did the 82nd Airborne Division form?Who were the two most famous female pilots of World War II?Why does the name “Quisling” mean traitor? And so much more!Being the kind of history student, I had been back in high school, I found myself not being able to put this book down, especially since the book is crammed full of the lesser-known, yet still important, facts [trivia] regarding WWII which adds to a better understanding of the war, on all the three fronts of the war both in Europe/North Africa, and the Pacific. The kind of information this book imparts on its readers range from being startling to being somewhat bizarre, but regardless of what the newly acquired information might be, all of the information can best be described as being intriguing. It’s unfortunate that the author. Mr. O’Neill didn’t include any more tantalizing tidbits regarding WWII. If you want to feel like you’re watching the TV program You Are There [1953-1972], which placed viewers where the action [reenactments] were taking place, then this book places its readers in the midst of what they’re reading about. For wanting to fill the gaps of knowledge his readers, including this reviewer, have regarding WWII, I can’t hesitate in giving Mr. O’Neill the 5 STARS he’s earned for his endeavor in this book.

Interesting Book on WWII Trivia
You could write 1000's of pages on WWII trivia. My son likes non-fiction history and this is a nice little read for him. I think it is around 60 pages.

Helps bring more fun to my social studies lessons!
I teach fifth grade and our Social Studies curriculum goes from the Spanish-American War through the attacks of September 11th. It's VERY broad which does not give us time to go very deep on any specific piece. I love history and one of my favorite things to do is to bring interesting and unusual facts into my lessons that help engage the kids. I do a lot of research to bring these types of facts in and Bill has helped save me a lot of time!

This Book Is An Interesting Book About World War II.
This is an interesting book about World War II. The book is in question and answer format throughout the book. Some of the interesting information that is mentioned in the book includes the following information: The Volkswagen car company was established in 1937 to build cars for all German people, so the name was translated into English as People's Car. After the World War II began Volkswagen switched to produce military vehicles during the war, using much of its labor from concentration camps and prisons. During World War II, Mitsubishi manufactured Japan's A6M Zero planes. They dominated the Pacific airspace. Today, Mitsubishi is known for manufacturing cars. The jeep was made in the United States. Of the more than 600,000 jeeps producing during World War II, about 30% were sent to British and Soviet armies. The production of a civilian Jeep model began in 1945. Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Portugal were neutral for the entire World War II. Mr. Quisling was a Norwegian diplomat who collaborated with the Nazis after Germany conquered Norway in April 1940. That is how the name Quisling came to mean traitor.

Putting into perspective the many events of ww2.
This book does what it claims to do and tells you about ww2. It lays out a lot of events and goes into detail about where and why. Puts a lot of time and events in order so that they make more sense. Also covered a lot of things I didn't know and was able to tie things about ww2 together with the new events.
