This is the best hay sampler ever. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Make sure your battery for your drill is fully charged. I am so glad I spent the extra money for this one. The bag fits right over that black cover and you drill one bale then use the push rod to push that sample down into the end and it pops right into your bag that is attached. Then drill the next bale and do the same thing. For one sample I drilled 8-10 random bales for each farm we bale. I would recommend this to everyone who has to take hay samples.

Very timely arrival and packed well. The probe didn’t work quite like I thought it would but as I probed it improved. I found that after each probe if I used the rod to clear the tube it worked much better. I did notice that each time I cleared it with the rod it got a little easier. I believe it will work smoother with use. I will buy again and will recommend it to others. A good value purchase.

Worked perfectly with ease. If you have any problems make sure that it's not user error because if you take your hay samples right this probe makes it a breeze.

This is a great sampler. a power drill does all the work and the way the bag fits makes for a mess free process.

I bought this, for taking samples of round hay bales. You need a drill whith enough power, i'ts easy to use, see online videos. At first it cuts very good but after some bales as any knife loose it's sharpness, don't forget you are cutting hay. I use a round smooth chain saw file to sharpen the cutting end, and it works great. Be carefull with the cutting end, is very sharp and can cut your fingers.

We bought this to replace an old hay probe that we loan to customers. All of our customers really like it. We are an Extension Office and send about 25-30 forage samples a month. It seems to be holding up well.

Does not get a sample unless the bale is compressed VERY tightly. Not worth the money in my opinion as I wouldn't buy it again.
