Very good addition
I was tired of my brother and his cords and plug so I got this to help and it definitely have. Don’t have to excessive amount of cords and plugs and works just great.

Also works for M2 Macbooks!
I originally bought this hub for an Intel Macbook Air and it worked reliably well. I upgraded to an M2 Air recently and thought I'd have to buy a new hub, since the manufacturer doesn't list the M2 as a compatible device. Color me surprised that this works with my new M2! It's worth noting that this hub covers the MagSafe port, so you'll need to use a USB-C cable to charge it.Apple finally had the good sense to carry over the design of the USB-C ports from Intel to the newer Macs!

Looks good, adds great functionality, could be a little better for top end users.
This seems to be high quality, very portable and adds a lot of functionality, to a An expensive laptop that has become quite incompatible with almost all accessories /:The fit & feel looks nice, but the USB 3.0 ports are very tight. It’s quite difficult to unplug accessories without unplugging/disrupting the whole doc.If you have a case on your laptop, the product depth is short & will be “floating” above table, making it a bit suspect to let the USB-C ports supporting all load. The load should matter except when plugging & unplugging accessories.I think the look is handsome with no cable, but the practicality (& maybe longevity) are a bit suspect. I would prefer one with a cable attachment between the computer & dock, but Hyper doesn’t offer one, that supplies the proper power for the larger laptops. I have the 16” MBP & was told by their support department that this is the only one supplying proper power.I also wish this doc had an Ethernet port, like many others. They do offer several options w/ Ethernet, but Only for smaller (lower power) laptops. Those options do include a cable option & so likely they would be a 5 star solution, for those w/ less power hungry models.

Just about everything you need in one compact package
This Adapter / dongle works great for travel or remote working. I think this is much more convenient that looking through my bag for a specific dongle such as a USB Type C to USB Type A or SD Card Reader, etc. I can pull out this one adapter and know I have all the bases handled. This adapter offers most of all the ports I need on the go and allows pass-through charging.Plus, I like that this adapter connects directly to and matches the aesthetic of a recent MacBook Pro 15-inch laptop. I use a Roost stand with my laptop when working remote and find other adapters with an attached short USB Type C cable are not optimal for this set-up. The cord on the other adapters I have tried do not reach to the table, so the adapter dangles in the air and creates an odd mid-air place to connect and dis-connect peripherals. This HyperDrive adapter acts like an extension of the computer. The main con I have for this adapter is that it does not have ethernet. I see that HyperDrive makes one with ethernet, but to achieve the taller port they add a pop-up extension. I like the form factor of this unit much better. Since, I use this adapter on the go, I rarely need ethernet anyway. For my desk at home and the office, I have Thunderbolt 3 docks that I tied into my wired networks. Also another con is that I find common to all the adapters I have tried is that only one incoming USB Type C port carries the full charging capabilities to the host computer. Since all the adapters I have seen have this limitation, I really can't knock this one for having the same. It must be a technical limitation.Overall, this may be one dongle to rule them all LOL.

Great buy!
For the price this item is an excellent buy. It fits well on the side of my Macbook Air. I recommend to anyone.

Exactly what I wanted...but it failed...twice!
As those of us who have Macbook's know, getting everything connected to USB-C ports is challenging. And having this hub with its fantastic assortment of ports, slim, sleek design was exactly what I needed to hook up all my peripherals. But two months later, the connection on my first HyperDrive failed. I blamed myself. Perhaps I wasn't careful with the hub as it projects from the side of the laptop. So I bought a replacement. The replacement lasted me 3 months and the same thing happened again. Obviously spending $200 in five months and ending up with two non-working hubs is an expenses that is hard to swallow. I can't recommend this product. I suggest getting a hub that is on a cord so that it will not fail as quickly.

It Just Works
I bought this item because I wanted more than just what the MacBook pro gave. I got 4 USB-C ports, but Iʻm always doing more. Iʻm editing video: This has micro-SD and SD card reading capability. I can download video from the drone or Osmo pocket (micro). Download from my mirrorless and DSLR cameras (SD Card). I can recharge items either USB-C or USB. I connect my external drives, phones to my MBPro. I havenʻt used the HDMI yet, but everything else; I can connect and go. I am a little scared because itʻs only the USB-C connect into the computer, but computer has been stable in one place and the connection is solid; but knowing itʻs only two small pieces of metal securing it to the laptop is a little disconcerting. Itʻs a GREAT piece of hardware which Iʻm using just about every day.

Best thing for downloading stuff
I love a small and easy it is to pack around. It’s the best purchase I’ve made as a photographer since I got my Mac book!
