I didn't believe it was junk.....it was
Well....fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice....??I've bought cheap things before thinking I could make them work. It never pans out. I should have believed the posted reviews, but I thought I could make this camera work. I needed a small eyepiece webcam for a finder scope. Hey, for $17 why not take a chance?Well....losing $17 is a great reason not to take a chance. The camera itself I think can work. It responds to generic webcam software but is so blurry and out of focus it is not usable. But, I tried my other eyepiece cameras with generic webcam software and they were blurry as well. It all has to do with focal length and zoom settings.I downloaded their recommended software - amcap.exe. Amcap can recognize my laptop webcam and show the image just fine. But, when I tried to use this camera with amcap it threw an error message that it couldn't render the video stream. As recommended by the on-line help, I tried all of the video rendering options to no avail. Their solution, if this didn't work, was to reinstall the drivers for the camera. Only problem: There are no drivers (at least that I could find - and I searched all day).I then tried the camera using SharpCap - which is a great eyepiece camera piece of software. SharpCap recognized this camera, but every time I selected it SharpCap crashed without any message. Just stopped running.I'm going to keep the camera, as I'm kind of an electronics junkie and I think I might be able to make it work - somehow. If you're looking for a challenging project, this might be the camera for you. If you want something useful, stay away!

Cheap, but you will get the idea why astrophotography is hard. Now buy the next best one
It's a great product! Yeah it's only a couple of bucks, but it really brings forward the challenges that you will face if you buy a bigger and better camera. My telescope is not set up for a better camera I need to start thinking about getting a fine focuser before I go buying a better camera. The images is a little bit noisy but outside of that it's actually really good quality for what it is. I have really enjoyed getting it to work on my raspberry pie touchscreen tablet so that my telescope Can show me what it's looking at without me having to do a bunch of squinting. But this then go to a better model. It is actually a good thing to buy this and to be introduced to astrophotography and more expensive equipment is the right purchase for you.

Simple to use, low resolution camera
Well for a $16 640x480 pixel camera I didn't expect much especially with the bad reviews. My Windows 7 and 10 PCs did load the drivers without problems but using it as a webcam would not work of course. Using a 3X Barlow lenses on my 130mm reflector I was able to photograph and shoot video of tree leaves from roughly 1000' away. Focusing was very touchy and the overall quality was not that great as the leaves lacked any real detail. If the night sky ever clears up I will try photographing the moon.

poor sensitivity
Totally useless as a spotter camera or as a main camera. very poor sensitivity. ALSO Half of the case is made of white plastic, that will let light leak through.

Read the Reviews
I am IT person and can work wonders with technology. The other reviews are right. I tested this thing on Windows 10, Home and Pro and then on Windows 7 Pro. Windows did not like the drivers and the recommended software they use would not work because the drivers kept erroring. If they came up with legit drivers, I believe this would work perfect for close up video and pictures through my spotting scope.
