Poor assembly, super noisy fans, otherwise 5-star
The assembler did not remove two of the filler plates for the fans, so they were not bringing in outside air. The middle fan was also hitting its cord, making a noisy fan super unbearable. Do your self a favor and get the Noctura 40x20 PWM fans -- you can barely hear them (see the photo for 3 of the noctura fans).I used 4x Samsung MEMDDR16KSMR (D4329R 16GB 2933MHz DDR4 ECC/REG PC4-23400 CL21 1.2V Server Memory).I'm running pfSense CE on it. Worked pretty well out of the box. The only hidden setting was how to boot from the NVMe ram. Just search for "supermicro boot from nvme" and you'll find the bios setting to make. Also, do yourself a favor and download the supermicro IPMI software. You will get a KVM over IP and access to all the sensors and fan control. I set the fan control to a quieter mode. Once the IPMI is LAN port is running, you do not need a monitor or keyboard at all.

Great little esxi machine.
Works great for the esxi machine I built to replace a really old, much larger machine.

Good but $60-$100 rack kit!
Obviously SuperMicro is always great. My main complaint is that to get 2 pieces of metal (rack brakets) you have to pay an extra $60-$100. Really???I don't like that rip off so I'm going to make some 3D-printed ones, but it's unfortunate.
