Excellent charger with a minimal draw-back.
I had originally purchased and used the POWER A DualShock 4 Dual Charger with FREE USB Cable and was content enough with it until one side stopped working entirely. As with a number of products, when one encounters a problem like this without any misuse or cause, I searched for a viable alternative and happened upon this variant from Japan. This unit seems well built and sturdy. I am please with the purchase.Pros:- Packaging is well done and solid. As expected, the instructions were all in Japanese however. There is nothing to learn here though, just plug it in and plug the controllers.- Allows two controllers to charge simultaneously with no issues.- There is no concern of damaging the controllers when placing them on the charger.- This is made by Sony Japan and is not a third party.Cons:- Although this is a great charger, it is not as easy as the POWER A DualShock 4 Dual Charger with FREE USB Cable in placing the controllers on the unit. With the "Power A" there is a spring loaded mechanism that allows one to know of a proper connection. With this unit, especially with the second slot, I find myself searching for the plug with the controller making a bit more of a pain to seat the controller. This seems to be the only issue I've experienced however.Overall, I'd highly recommend either this product or the "Power A" as both units do the job very well. I did have the other unit for over a year without issue, but as stated, an in-explainable failure from an adult used unit such as these causes concern for re-purchase. I've paid full price for both units and would recommend this one for certain.

Dual charger for your DS4 Controllers!
Playing different games and sometimes for more that a few hours, I tend forget to connect the USB for my controllers to charge. Now the USB cable does the job but I wanted something more easy, like I did when I had my PS3. This charging cradle does the job by allowing you to charge your DS4 controller through the ext port on it. I haven't used for an extended period of time but I've noticed I have to pay attention when dropping the controller to charge. Reason why is because you won't nail it every time, don't know if I'm wasting any time (like if i'm not when playing games lol) but maybe with time I'll learn to drop the controller and align it more easily. The connector on the cradle does move in case a child just happens to yank it out by force (this by no means will prevent damage) but rather will allow movement to the front if pulled. When you drop the controller to charge there is not much force required to push it, it's more like a assurance that the controller is connected. You will hear a click and when pushed all the way, once it's charged just lift the controller and game on. The light bar of your DS4 controller will pulse if charging and/or only turn on once if fully charged. The cradle has its weight and doesn't move around. So far I'm very happy, the silicone covers I purchased separately are very nice and eliminate that slippery feel of the DS4 plastic controller. The thumb grips feel like they should have been a must on the controller. Works with Silicone Controller Half-Skins
When I switched from Squid Grips to Pandaren half-skins, I got the nasty surprise that my Power-A controller dock wouldn't make contact anymore unless I pulled the skins off. I decided to take a chance on the official Sony dock, and I'm glad I did.For naked controllers, the dock works absolutely perfectly: you drop the controller onto the dock, let it slide down the back wall of the indent, and it seats itself and clicks in. No having to click in/out (and train other people to click in/out) like the Power-A. The base is also weighted, and the plug is a skinny lamp plug, not a big wall-wart, so works better on my extension cord. Even if you don't use controller skins, I can easily recommend this over the Power-A, which in turn is the best of the docks directly available in the US.With the skin on, the controller requires a little more fiddling to seat and small bit of downward pressure to connect, but the male power jack on the dock is on a spring-loaded cylinder that's made to swivel forward. It'll make room for the skin and click in, and the controller charges fine. It's possible it'll also work with a full skin. The power jack is fairly long, so I think there's a decent chance it'll still make contact. Definitely works fine with the half-skins that leave the button jack naked though.Highly recommended, especially if you run a skin on the controller. There just isn't another solution that works, and this one works really well.
