Amazon is asking if the game is easy to learn. It's chesslike, in that you can likely continue to improve as you practice. The rules were clearer online than in the instruction sheet: there are several variations of play, and not all of them are referenced in the product documentation.The pieces are quite attractive, and capture the spirit of both oldness and newness, elegant yet simple, sturdy but inexpensive.

I am very pleased with the quality of this game. The pieces are really well done and the cloth board is also surprisingly well crafted as well. Love the pouch that came with it too. Very excited to play this game with family and friends. Definitely would recommend purchasing this. Also, it came earlier than expected and no damages.

Totally cool game. I like the authentic look of the game pieces and cloth board. I like the pouch that holds the game pieces and board. Once we figured out how to play the game, it became addicting. Great with ale or Meade! SKOAL!

Nicely done pieces, goes well side by side with my Lewis chessmen set. The cloth gameboard is a nice touch. Easy to carry around anywhere for gaming breaks!

Fun and unique game and pieces. But for the price wish the bag and cloth play mat were a bit more durable and hefty materials.

I saw the pieces. they are beautifully made. I just noticed one piece had a small chip on it. Even the board is nice which is a cloth. Even the small bag is nice

Bought this to play on family boardgame nights, based on kiddo's love of chess. It's a much simpler game from a rules perspective, but equally complex as far as strategy, and for new players perhaps even moreso, owing to the asymmetrical gameplay. Quality was decent. We really enjoy playing and recommend for anyone looking for something new.

This set is really well made. The pieces have a nice heft, they feel like they're carved out of bone. The board is cloth but decent quality and I expect it to last.Gameplay itself is easy to learn but the strategy is very different than chess or Go. Play is dynamic, it's not so easy to build a solid strategy and the fact that each side has a very different goal makes things really interesting.Loving to have this piece of history on my bookshelf, it definitely won't be collecting dust!

Fantastic game, very strategic and great to teach my grandchildren a proper 'thinking' game. It is supplied with a decorative linen cloth board which is great to take to the local pub, but to be honest I only bought this for the lovely detailed resin game pieces. It's easy to make a wooden board and use woodstain to decorate it. All the family and grandchildren are addicted to playing this game, so it's taking pride of place on the coffee table. Looks a lot better than the price suggests. I noticed some reviews saying the pieces chip easily. I'm not sure how, or maybe they have changed them, but the pieces I received are absolutely perfect and look like they'd last a lifetime. Delighted with this purchase, and great price too !

El juego es una pasada. Las reglas son sencillas pero es muy entretenido. Es un juego de estrategia. Las piezas blancas (defensores), tienen que intentar que su Rey llegue hasta uno de los castillos situados en las esquinas del damero, mientras que las piezas marrones (atacantes) tienen que intentar rodear al Rey para derrotarlo. Las instrucciones vienen en español. Es un juego muy hermoso con piezas y tapete muy bonitos.
