Fantastic Bike Carrier (Updated)
I was skeptical about this carrier but decided to pull the trigger for our beach trip. I read a lot of reviews and watched a couple videos prior to installation. I did end up taking another reviewers advice and wrapped the metal ends with electrical tape. This seems to give the ends more grip and they did not move at all. I also did a practice install a day ahead of time to figure out how it all works. If you look at my photos I installed it on the back of our Buick Enclave. I did secure the bikes to the rack with a couple bungee cords just for my peace of mind. I had Velcro ties on the wheels to keep them from spinning and to keep the bike forks straight. Only issue I had was getting the mongoose bike with the rotor and routed break cabling to sit correctly in the holder. That was not an issue with the carrier but the bike design and how they routed the break lines under the center bar.I tightened everything down, put the bikes on, tightened everything again. Rode around the block and came back and made sure everything was good. Had no issues with the unit slipping or becoming loose. Had no damage to the car. The bikes were on tight, they never moved. The trip was 4 hours on every type of road from 2 lane bumpy back country to 70mph interstate highway. Never had an issue. Stopped about 1/2 way to stretch my legs and checked the bikes, still rock solid.I have no hesitation to recommend this carrier. Just do your homework and take some time before you leave to figure out the best way to install this on your vehicle and you’ll be fine.Updated 2023:We've made 4 trips with this carrier for over 1100+ miles and it's still going strong. No issues and no damage, it continues to work perfectly.

Allen Sports Deluxe 2-bike rack and Adaptive Bar
These products are made from very high-quality materials and are easy to use especially for the price! The only “easy to assemble” part that I had and still have a harder time with is being able to assemble and dissemble the two silver chrome bars on the sides. They take a lot of strength that I don’t always feel I have and precaution because I did pinch my fingers a little when I first pulled and snapped the bars into place. Thankfully, my fingers were not clamped all the way, but I can’t imagine what the excruciating pains or phalangeal damages would be like if my fingers ever get accidentally clamped while reassembling or disassembling those chrome bars one day. Those chrome bars need to be snapped into place to hold the rack’s frames in place, but I can’t fold the rack to make it fit into smaller storage spaces unless I pull those chrome bars back out which feels like a highly potential hazard each time. The task got easier as I used the bike rack more often, but those chrome bars were extremely difficult to handle the first couple of times for me. Overall, I still think I will got my money’s worth!

rack actually works
I bought this bike rack for a trip with a total of 5 hours on the road combined not to mention the road was bumpy and the bike rack made it no issues. We initially had our doubts that something would go wrong but to our surprise, we made it. Instructions were a little complicated, yet again we’re two 20 year old females so once we pulled out a youtube video….easyyy. The rack is sturdy and easy to assemble although it was nearly impossible to not pitch a finger, it was all worth it in the end. I would absolutely recommend getting this rack, my friend also agrees.

Works Great!
I bought this after trying to stuff my bike into the back seat of my car and bending some components in the process. This was super easy to install and I just completed an 800 mile round trip with the bike. It was extremely steady and no issues. You might notice in the picture that the front tire is not there. I did find that I had to remove it and carry it in the back seat as it would hang too low to the ground and scrape the pavement when I went over a larger drain dip in the road. I am very happy with the purchase. I can now transport my bike wherever I need to go without trying to stuff it into a vehicle that is not big enough to hold it. I definitely recommend this one!

Works great, if it didn't drain my car battery
The bike rack is great, especially for the cost. It holds two bikes well, it's super easy to set up and secure, and it's relatively pretty versatile for any car. But here's the kicker: When it's been on my car overnight, when it's time to turn the car on in the morning, the battery is dead. Drained to 0%!At first, I didn't think the bike rack could be to blame. It was probably a coincidence that my car had something draining the battery and I just happened to have just bought it. I took the rack off, cleaned out my car, took it to a technician, they recharged the battery, and for a while, when I wasn't biking, it worked good as new. I put the bike rack on again, took it off immediately once I was done. Car continued to work fine. And again, still fine. I ended up leaving it on overnight while I was getting it fixed, and my car died again. I had to jump start it. It could still be a coincidence, because it just didn't make sense.Last night, I put it on before I went to sleep. I worked the early shift, and wanted to bike after work. I put the bike rack back on, and the next morning, my car was completely dead. 0% battery, just like the last two times. My mechanic took a look at it, and he realized that the way it sits on my car, even though it's confirmed compatible, presses down on my rear wiper, and causes it to drain the battery. The wiper is automatic, so I guess it just registers as constantly trying to wipe but not being able to.It's really not an issue with the rack itself, just that I bought this because it was marked as compatible but does this to my car. I don't know if it's worth trying to contact customer service about it, because I've had it for about 2 months now, so I gave the rack the benefit of the doubt. My car is a 2015 Chevy Spark, if anyone is interested. Just beware if you have a hatchback with an automatic wiper.
