I have really only been using the K&N for about 2-3K miles so far. I've noticed I can 'hear' the intake sucking air more with this air filter so I believe it when I read that it flows better. With higher air flow, I'll be curious to see how much the filtration decreases over a stock filter. My guess would be the filtration will suffer, but not horribly bad or in a dangerous way. Do not expect a huge HP increase with this filter, but I did get my best gas mileage after doing this filter, oil change, and spark plugs (37mpg HW).In all I recommend this filter (so far) to anyone who plans on keeping their car for a while. With the cost of the filter and recharge kit, it is only saving you money if you plan on keeping your car for 90-120K miles after purchase of the filter.

I have owned several K&N filters, and even though I have not put a million miles on one yet, I am probably close to one million miles on the total amount of K&N filters that I have owned. I have a 1998 Honda Accord that I purchased new and now my son drives. It has 370,000 miles on it and the filter looks like new. There is some slight cracking of the rubber surround, but not enough that it impedes performance or function, and hey, if it does fail in the future, its warranteed! I bought this latest filter for my 2004 CR-V and another for my 2010 Civic directly from K&N, then as an afterthought, I checked Amazon's pricing and it was HALF the cost! K&N was gracious and took the filters back, and then I ordered the same units from Amazon.

Having used K&N oiled air filters for decades choosing this unit for my car was easy. Of course it works perfectly and is no more difficult to install than a traditional paper filter. I am just a tiny bit disappointed at the improvement in fuel economy - hence the four stars. I was expecting better than a couple percent but my vehicle, being AWD, is just hard on fuel. That is a function of powering twice as much hardware as a TWD vehicle. At least I've picked up about 5HP though I've never been disappointed with the power of my little SUV. As I said, I've used these filters on cars and motorcycles for decades. There simply is nothing better. Plus, you'll save money on replacements.

Wow, what a difference a K&N air filter makes!Honda's OE filter is $24.49 suggested retail so at just under $39.00, the K&N filter will pay for itself in a year or two, especially if you live in a dusty area. But the cost is a minor benefit compared to how much better our 2002 CR-V performs with the K&N filter. I've read glowing reviews of K&N filters but I must admit to a bit of skepticism...until I installed this filter. The CR-V has never run better and it's quite clear that engine breathing is significantly improved. It idles and accelerates more smoothly and the fuel mileage appears to have improved slightly as well (although, admittedly, it will take a couple more tanks to be sure).All in all, this is the best money I've ever spent on the car.

I have a K&N fliter for every vehicle, these are fantastic air filters. Just wished I owned stock in the company, as they are slightly overpriced, but overall a great investment if you are holding on to your car. Definately added power & noticeable added air flow. Easy to clean & recharge system allows for LONG LIFE!

i got this for my civic si ep3 2004 and it does the jobas far performance goes...it makes a bit more sound and throttle response. could be just because it's new...or placebo effecteither way its a new filter and it does the job.its red and looks nice(not that it matter it goes closed in my airbox anyways). comes with stickers....i prefer to get a "performance" one for peace of mind that im getting the most out of my car(for a reasonable price), needed a new one anyways. [...] Bucks shipped isnt too bad of a price for that.

excellent fit. have used k&n filters in all my previous cars in the past, it does make a small difference in driving. with k&n i do get little bit better gas mileage, better acceleration. reasonably priced through amazon. expensive for a filter but worth buying one if you intend to keep the car for a long time.
