*Update* Seller read the review and emailed me to send me a replacement shock because as below my clip was broken. They also advised that the clear film was not needed on certain applications.Easy to install and works perfectly.There was no clear film to protect paint and one of the clips were broken in the package, luckily only one side so it still locks on just not as tight as it should. I did use a little grease in the cup just in case. Overall looks and works just fine. So seller if you read this and want to send me the clear film and a new clip it would be appreciated.

All parts were not in box
The box was delivered and there was no apparent damage to shipping box. When the product container was opened, it was missing the Mylar protection material. The instructions tell you about putting on the Mylar, but it was not in the box.I have not installed this support yet, but it appears to be relatively easy to install.

I Love It
I’ve had this on my 2017 F150 for about 2 months. I use my tailgate pretty regularly and this is great. It slowly lowers the tailgate with no effort from me. I can pull the latch and keep walking towards my load. It seems like a dumb little thing but my friends with trucks have all gotten one now.

Perfect fit
Fit my 2015 F150 XL perfect. Now my tail gate drops smoothly without my assist. Took me a minute to figure out where the plastic protector was. It's part of the case it comes in - perforated to easy removal.

You get what you pay for
I discovered after installing the device that it allowed the tailgate to drop halfway before engaging the hydraulic resistance. Overall rating: Meh.

Awesome Functionality!
A great mod for any truck. Now I don’t have to worry about the tailgate slamming, even got compliments from others who see the tail gate come down slow & wonder why there truck doesn’t do that!!
