Q: How high can the pump lift?

I use mine to fill the excavator and it is a 4 ft lift with no problem.

Q: can this pump transfer acetone to aclean container?

No - not explosion proof. Hugh hazard pumping highly flammable fluids.

Q: can this be used as a water pump?

May or may not work with water. Might have internal parts that need to be lubricated by oily diesel fuel. Might have internal parts that rust from water. I would just buy a pump intended for use with water.

Q: Where do you get filter replacement?

The "filter is not much of a filter unless you have huge particles in your tank. Not worth replacing IMHO. I did not even install mine.
