Drill America - DWDRSD7/8 7/8" Reduced Shank High Speed Steel Drill Bit with 1/2" Shank, DWDRSD Series

Needed an odd size 55/64” bit to do drag link flip kit on my jeep. This cheapo $12 bit was more than half the price I could find anywhere else, and it cut through the solid metal steering knuckle like butter and tracked perfectly using only a 12volt battery drill. Very surprised by its performance would highly recommend.

This bit was good for 6 holes through 1/4" mild steel before getting too dull, and that was with lubrication and pre-drilling a pilot hole. If you only need it for one project it's a good option considering the low price, but it is a disposable item. If you need to drill many holes through steel get a cobalt bit.

Bought this a while ago, just opened it. Glad I didn’t need it when I bought it. Looks like it’s used and someone tried sharpening it with a cut off wheel. At least it was oiled it after they destroyed the cutting edge. Don’t waste your money on this junk.

I wasn’t expecting much for a cheap drillbit, but it actually drilled through some pretty thick steel without any issues. Not sure how long it will hold its sharpness, but I drilled through 1/8 inch steel twice without slowing down. One important thing to remember when drilling; use some kind of lubricant so the bit doesn’t overheat and dull faster.
