The look, taste and texture implied they were stale.
I've ordered these previously and they have been good. However, these recent ones are awful. The look, taste and texture suggest they are old stock which has been improperly stored. The chocolate looks cloudy. The toffee is the texture of fudge. The taste is ok but not good. Our family normally love these, but this batch is going to food recycling !

absolutely love these caramels but can't seem to find them on shops so lucky to find them at Amazon woop!

Think they're past their 'best before' date
I love Jameson caramels. This bag was not right though - about 50% of them were lovely and chewy and just what they should be. The other half tasted flakey and like a bad fudge. No best before date on the bag, but I'm pretty sure these would have been past it.
