desertcart.com: Digital Signal Processing for Complete Idiots (Electrical Engineering for Complete Idiots) eBook : SMITH, DAVID: Kindle Store Review: Very good introduction to this complex field. - I have several other books on the subject. Some I will never read but those that I will are going to integrate nicely with the knowledge presented here to give a comprehensive picture of the Fourier transform and its application. Review: Clear presentation - This little book is very useful. I wish I had it when I was getting my degree. It provides practical insight into signals and transforms. Regular texts make it all harder than it has to be.

Good Introduction to DSP
Simple and clear, good for the beginner, keeps the math to the minimum, it would be good if show more examples

Not 20$ worth of book
Yeah the book is cool or whatever. I bought it for my systems class to help simplify the ideas of my Textbook. This thing is tiny. I mean like miniature for something that’s supposed to cover such a difficult topic. However, for 20$ I would rather get schaum’s. There’s really no example problems. I am not saying it’s bad. But it’s definitely not worth the current price.

great
Not easy but understandable with effort. Thanks to David for sharing his expertise. All his manuscripts are fantastic for understanding difficult subjects.

Like matlab code to in understanding
Strong background along with matlab code examples. Also, able to demonstrate without advanced knowledge of differential calculus. For experienced to beginners, a good read and good engineering.

A good basics book
I dont know if, by itself, this book would allow its reader to accomplish much, aside from a further appreciation for DSP. However, I think as a precursor to taking on Scientist and Engineers Guide to DSP, it will prove very helpful. One observation though, the book promises minimal math, it is, however, dense in formulas.

Nice Book to learn the basics
This book is great for learning the basics of DSP, highly recommended.

Being a complete idiot, I decided that it was a right book for me to refresh my DSP knowledge. Unfortunately it seems that the author doesn't care about the formulas he inserted in his book. The formula from Section 2.2.1 which is supposed to describe the transfer function for two LTI systems connected in series is incorrect. The second formula of Section 6.2 describes IDTFT and it is incorrect as well. Apparently the author likes Inverse DTFT and reproduces his incorrect version of IDTFT in Section 2 of the appendix of the book. I feel I should say something positive about the book: a low price and nice pictures.

Im a dummy in this subject and have a feeling that this book was written for me (its on the cover). explains stuff in a simple manner just enough to keep you intrested, not too much to overwhelm you.

I've had the Turbo Pascal Numerical Methods Toolbox since it was first published with its code in 1987. I've used some of its matrix functionality off and on over the years. The signal processing chapter's code and examples always left me cold on how to put them to use. This book, 'Digital Signal Processing for Complete Idiots', gives me a bit of background into how the Toolbox code might be able to be used for a friend's whale research whale locating project. A first step in a now discernible direction.

Apesar de ser para completos idiotas , não sou tão idiota assim. O livro é muito superficial e não acrescentou mais conhecimento para mim. Mas para quem não sabe absolutamente nada sobre o tema, vale a pena ler.
