Is 1.6mm the external diameter or the diameter of the hole?

hi, it is the external diameter.

how hard is it to get the jewellery in ? is there a hole at the top where thr jewlley slides in to when removing the needle ?

Easy to use. The jewellery fits in end of needle so follows the needle through

Can you pierce lip with these ?

I would say yes if you know what you’re doing. They are sharp, I pierced my tongue no problem.
