Incredible art. What a gift!

First, ignore the one-stars. They are seller complaints! These paintings are iconic, magnificent, and mesmerizing! They will stir your psyche even if you only gaze upon them for a few moments! Go to other sources if you want in depth WORDS about these goddesses. Her pictures are what will settle in your unconscious and speak to you in your dreams... You can meditate on these paintings with all the various symbols linked to the image of any particular goddess and get great inspiration for tarot and such My right-brain wants an appendix with the dates of these pieces so you could see how her work evolved. Persephone on page 91 is especially significant as it was finished a year or less before Susan moved on into the spiritual, eternal realm. There is so much in these paintings to inspire homage, prayer, devotion, celebration, and poetry...

Beautiful illustrations. I suggest buying it NEW. First copy I ordered was used-like new and what arrived was damaged by water and the book was white trimmed. The binding was falling apart and the back pages were stuck together. That one is going back. The pictures looked washed out. In the meantime, I bought a brand new copy and what arrived was just like this one pictured with a deep red margin color. I compared the pictures and they are brilliant, beautiful and you can see the details and depths. Definitely worth buying it NEW.

I really enjoyed the beautiful artwork and the description of each goddess. One complaint I have is that the names of each art piece are not included. The writer spoke about the goddess in each painting but did not include the actual given name of the artwork. It is very interesting to see how goddesses stand for very similar things across times and cultures. I do wish there was more to some of the stories relating to some of the goddesses; the descriptions do become somewhat repetitive. You really will be purchasing this book more for Susan's work than the mythological stories, which are not very in depth. I recommend this book for anyone that loves mythology and, of course, Susan Seddon Boulet's work. I'm very happy to have it in my collection of Susan's works.

Wonderful pictures. If you like Susan Seddon Boulet, this has good examples of her work, which I adore. I belong to a small group of sculptors several of whom use her work as inspiration. That's why I wanted it, & it certainly doesn't disappoint.

You can't help falling in love with these paintings that take you out of this world and into the mind of the sacred. She can touch you where no one else can!

Der Bildband präsentiert die Gemälde der Göttinnen von der Künstlerin Susan Seddon Boulet. Es handelt sich aus meiner Sicht um eine sehr gelungene Kombination von realistischen, surrealen und abstrakten Elementen. Für den Betrachter wird der Charakter jeder Göttin deutlich, der außerdem in einem kurzen Text erklärt wird, sodass man auch rationale Erklärungen zur Verfügung hat. In vielen Bildern zerfließen die Grenzen zwischen den anthropomorphen Gesichtern und der Welt der Träume. Wenn man die Gemälde intensiv betrachtet, gewinnt man einen Einblick in die archaische, erdverbundene und kosmische Traumwelt, die nicht nur bloßer Traum ist, sondern eine andere Welt der Empfindungen und Wahrnehmungen. Die Welt der Göttin ist mehr eine Welt der Empfindungen und Einfühlungen, weniger eine von Law and Order, von rigiden Gesetzen etc., es ist also eine weibliche Sicht der Welt und des Universums. Aber vergessen wir nicht, dass es hier vor allem um Gemälde geht. Der Druck der Gemälde ist sehr gut, die Größe ebenfalls. Die Gemälde sind die Botschaft! Wer das Buch erwirbt, hält eine gute "Galerie" in den Händen. Sehr zu empfehlen!
