Are there any reviews regarding using this on the piroformous muscle?

I'd raise my foot and place on a chair with a bent knee, position the knob on my piroformous and gently exert pressure. This position allows easy access to the periformous muscle. You may have to try to locate the correct spot at first. But you'll find it quickly.

can you travel with the backnobber? carryon on plane?

Yes, I have travelled many times but Ive gotten stopped twice about it because it’s an odd looking item. I had to explain it to security in Mexico.

Can this be helpful with hamstrings?

Yes, the Backnobber II can help manage trigger points in the Hamstrings. Position yourself on a comfortable upholstered chair but not one that is overstuffed or too soft. Slip the Backnobber II between the back of your thigh and the chair and use the chair as a fulcrum to apply upward pressure to muscle knots in the thick muscles of the hamstring. Treat the most tender area first and then manuever the tool in one inch increments up and down the length of the entire muscle unit. Extending the knee into a hamstring stretch during compression is another technique to release tension. Warming the area first will enhance the effect of your compressions. Follow with light stretch and hip and knee range of motion or normal light exercise (walking)
