Best dog poo invention ever
Oh my gawd, this is one of the best purchases I have ever made ... I mean, ever!Super easy solution to dog poo. No more storing poop in a stinky can for a week and then putting it in the landfill.Couldn't have been easier. Just open your cleanout thingy (everybody has one somewhere ... ours is in front of the house, so we have to walk from the backyard to the front), screw this in, then open the lid when you want to put poo down the drain. Wash it down if it's messy (we have a hose right next to it), and close the lid.Well made. No smell. Super easy.Thank you, thank you, thank you. I feel so much better. We have a big dog and were putting a lot of poo in the landfill, which just feels wrong.

Update: The best invention EVER!
It's been a little over two months now and the 'Doggie Do Drain' we installed is working perfectly and easily handles the waste from my two +100# labs. Not only do my guys appreciate having a clean yard to play in, I've never had a problem washing their waste down the drain, regardless of the weather or quantity of poop. This winter we've had rain, sleet and below freezing weather, (which turns poop into rocks,) and never had a back-up, or any other problem whatsoever.Dealing with dog waste, even from a dog you adore, is a nasty chore, and so anything that makes it less onerous helps ensure that it gets DONE. The fact that you can wash the poop down the drain almost effortlessly is a real plus, and at the very least, it will reduce the smell and fly population around your house. I poop-patrol the yard twice a day, (just as I always have,) and have noticed a marked decrease in the fly population on the property compared to any other poop disposal system I've tried in the last 20yrs of dog ownership.Again, I can't recommend this product highly enough...especially if you have large dogs, multiple dogs, or just want an easy and environmentally friendly way to deal with dog waste in your yard. I'm actually considering ordering another unit or two, just in case these are someday no longer available...it's that good.Original Review:Prior to buying and installing the Doggie Do Drain, I tried the Dooley 3000 septic system, and had it installed as per the directions exactly...however, the soil here did not cooperate.I then tried the "Doggie Do Drain," and it changed my life!If you are on a sewer line, don't even think about doing anything else. Here are two YouTube links showing how it works:[...][...]While my clean-out was not so easily accessible as shown in the first video, my handyman was able to install an additional clean-out, (I also splurged and had an additional hose bib installed just for pure convenience.) To install the new clean-out took just about 2hours, about the same as it took him to dig the hole for the Doggie Dooley and install it.Unlike the Dooley, this is not a septic system, and so does not require enzymes or other ongoing maintenance and works in any soil all year round and at $44bucks it is less expensive. Because it flushes into the sewer system, it really is just like an outdoor toilet for your dog(s), so his waste gets treated just like yours before re-entering the environment.Nor is there a lid for the dogs to step on like with the Dooley. That is still in place, and more than once I've found the thing open and stinking after they've been playing in the yard. Now I am going to have my yard guy fill it in or cover it up in some way since I can't imagine how to get it OUT of the ground at this point...which also makes returning it rather impossible.Believe me, after using both, the Doggie Do Drain is THE solution to dog waste and simply the best invention ever for a dog owner. I have two very large labs and this is the first thing that has ever made the chore of keeping their play yard ready for play easy...I can't recommend it enough.I absolutely LOVE this thing.

I recommend this If you have to poop scoop
We bought one and installed it in our yard. We have a vent? To our sewage line that had a pvc cap on it so my Mr. bought an attachment with threads and installed it to that line. We share the chore of cleaning up the yard and this makes disposal so easy. It snows where we live so we put a 5 gallon bucket over the top of this just to make sure snow and ice won’t keep us from using it during the winter. I actually don’t mind the clean up as much as I used to with this. I would recommend having a water hose nearby so you can help waste to decompose and wash out to the sewage line. I am very glad I bought this the price for what it does, the ease of installation and convenience makes it well worth it’s price. There is no smell, we are not worried about it breaking apart it seems to be durable. Putting the bucket over the top helps protect it from winter weather.

Works great, easy to use
What do you do with the poo? The best option for me is to put it into the sewer system. That way there is no smell, no digging of holes, no killing the environment with plastic bags into the landfill.Basically this thing is a funnel with an easy to unscrew cap. If your sewer/septic cleanout is easy to unscrew maybe you don't need this attachment. It's pricey for a funnel, but to me it is worth it. Makes the poo cleanup super easy and quick.

Works great and saves messy handling in the trash
This item works great. The only thing that would make Better would be as if you could actually hook a hose up to it that had a valve so you could leave it on turn the water on from where you dump makes things a little more complicated but it would be nice other than that, though the product works great
