Expensive but worth every penny
For simplicity, shortest description would be "Monitors with 8" Sub". For those who care and have patience, lets understand the why's & what's. Why I/anyone should go for these? - If you are wary of sound signatures of massy brands, i.e.: 1. Muddy & overpowering bass (E.g. Sony, Philips) 2. Lack of definition in mids + overpowering bass (E.g. F&D, Logitech, JBL) 3. Overall mundane and bland, "jack of all master of none" types (E.g. Bose) There can be many use cases, here's what I wanted when I started scouting: 1. High fidelity 2. Definition in highs and mids 3. Clarity in bass 4. Dedicated sub if possible 5. Relatively moderate price considering the niche segment After deliberation I was left with option of bookshelf/studio monitors, these are the option I had (online), and why I didn't choose them: 1. Monitors with small(3/3.5/4") drivers (E.g. Mackie CR5BT CR Series, JBL Professional NANO K3-K4, PreSonus Eris E3.5, M-Audio AV42 etc) - All these are pretty good speakers and has flat sound signature, the question is how flat do you want the sound signature to be. I am not a studio person who mixes and produces any music, I just want good clarity with definition in bass. All these monitors have 3/3.5/4" drivers at max, what about bass when I need some? They cant deliver. But then if you want some good lows you have to purchase a separate sub (another hole in the pocket). 2. Monitors with 5" drivers and above - (E.g. Edifier S2000MKIII) Well these provide good bass with clarity (this comes at a cost!). But the ability of full range dedicated sub driver always trumps similar sized mid range drivers. 3. Monitors with 8" drivers and above - Perfect fit, except my pockets disagreed very strongly. Also at this range you have already crossed the line of diminishing returns. Other compelling Bookshelf/Monitors and reason why it didn't fit in my scheme of things. M-Audio BX8 D3, Mackie MR824 8" (price parity) & Edifier R2750DB (No particular reason, could have gone for it, size is big though) Reasons to go for Edifier S350DB: 1. Bi-Amped speakers with separate DSP channels per driver (in simple words - enough definition for all freq ranges) 2. Apt X (Qualcomm)- Need those extra bandwidth for high fidelity in Bluetooth streaming 3. 8" subs (the deciding factor for me) - Bass is on the heavier side but never overpowers mids and highs + you can always control how much you need 4. No listening fatigue - After watching a movie in my Sony Home Theater I need to reorient my listening, it gives a headache of sorts, on the other hand S350DB is a pure audiophilic experience, very pleasant to ears and can listen for longer hours. 5. Options in connectivity (Aux, Optical, RCA, BT & Coaxial) 6. Premium build quality, dexterity of knobs (Best knobs ever!! [treble, bass, volume]) 7. Best for Man Caves, Personal Listening, Gaming setup, Small Groups Things to consider before you buy: 1. Difference in cable lengths of speakers (one is 5 feet other is 11 feet) 2. No protective layer for drivers, (its good as no interference, but then you need to careful) 3. Rudimentary wave guides, almost absent (non issue if your speaker placement is near to listener) 4. MidField/NearField [Not Omni-directional] speakers, you will hear it far better when placed moderately close to you AND directed towards you, not a room filler (can be used but then don't expect clarity [due to reflections]) 5. Damn heavy (its not meant to be carried too often) Those who are considering this, please be sure of what you want, there is no such answer as "Best Speaker" ever. It all boils down to your needs. I needed High Fidelity WITH dedicated sub and I am happy with what I got. If that is your use case I would suggest you go for it. If you don't want a sub go for studio monitors. I am attaching a sound sample recorded with phone (not a dedicated mic) to give some idea.

Just right👍
This is a full, no-compromise speaker pair with a subwoofer. Excellent clarity, great punch, and an overall awesome sound 👍 music and vocals.. superb. Some +ve points below: Wires are long enough (left and right can be placed about 15 feet away) Controls on the right speaker allows easy bass and treble control. Very useful feature. Looks good, feels heavy (superb quality). Subwoofer has air outlet on the right side (so the subwoofer can be close to a wall behind it) Bluetooth connection is stable.

Best Speaker for price point
Alright, I got these back in February. Been listening to them and been listening to multiple genres. I'll be breaking up the review in few sections. Sound Quality: Good sound separation. Mids and highs are clear and bass is true to recording, don't expect artificial overwhelming bass. The separation between bass and the mids and highs is also something which I very much appreciate. The soundstage is at times impressive (obviously this will depend on the audio file, codec etc) and its sweet spot according to my setup is at 2-5 feet, beyond that the sound stage seems "blurred" Build Quality : Good quality here, very nice finish but tad bit heavy and theres no protective grill for both satellites and bass unit so you need to be careful. Cables: It's been very long since I've seen cables that this unit uses especially on audio systems within this price range, it's bound to give you sense of nostalgia for all those who had computers in later 90s and early 2000s, Cable length is more than enough for small to medium rooms and are of good quality although I'd place the speakers in a way that the cables don't see any movement. The optical cable is bit short for way I wanted to set it up. The volume Dail is digital and is very smooth, I recommend using a wired connection instead of Bluetooth as there will be noticable difference in both quality and loudness. The remote is round and its struggle to find the right side pointing at the unit without looking at it. Optical audio is at par with wired (only used my ps4 so can't elaborate much here) I've mostly listened to Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd(Dark Side sounds brilliant) , Oasis, Beatles. Files where only 320kbps mp3 and flac. I dislike the remote build in terms of design, it's "coin/ufo" shaped and has no physical cues help point at the right direction. For people whom like original sound, multiple input options, brilliant quality relative to price point and a finish worth showing off. I recommend this.

Good, but not the best value for money
Firstly: # There are no authorised service centres in Ahmedabad to claim my warranty in case of serious malfunction, and the product is too heavy to move around with for the same purpose. # The email [email protected] doesn't seem to care about addressing customer queries & complaints, leaving me skeptical over the warranty issues. Secondly: # The amplification is not loud enough to my satisfaction, given the wattage of 150RMS. Especially, Bluetooth volume is too low. I have to crank it up to the highest level, which is a bit disappointing. In terms of loudness, it turns out that my existing F&D 2.1 Multimedia Speakers A111F with only 35RMS is surprisingly competent with this gadget. # The right speaker cable is hardwired, thereby compromising the convenience and flexibility of positioning them far across from the (sub)woofer. # Remote control is a little inconvenient to operate with. Last but not least: Contemplating all of the above factors, I have come to conclude that this product is a trifle expensive and risky investment of my hard-earned money. I might get better deals @ lower prices.

Edifers - A life long journey
Have been using Edifier speakers since past the 15 years. Previously I had the Edifier C2 which were also good for the price range & it has held up perfectly for 15 years and still in good working condition, however a speaker upgrade for my PC setup was long overdue. There was no doubt in my mind, I wanted to go for the new gen Edifiers 2.1 Subwoofer system. After a lot of YouTube video research on this model I was 100% sure that this was the speaker I had to upgrade to. The price felt expensive at start but to be very honest it delivers what it says and the price is very well justified. It has many different ways with which you can connect to almost any device you have.. it has 1 co-axial port, 1 aux port, 1 pc port & 1 SPDIF port (fiber cable included) It also has Bluetooth which is awesome. Bass is powerful & on point - I have no complaints from the audio that is delivered. Overall the Units are heavy and the wirings is thick with studio level wiring... Only thing is that both the speakers connect via a special fat pin cable which if by any chance gets damaged or stops working - could result in a very unpleasant hardware issue as it wouldn't get repaired easily. That being said the build quality is top notch and wooden speaker enclosures - I feel create the best sound. If you are looking for good quality speaker which delivers value for money then this is it..

As awesome as it gets...
If you expect these speakers to blow your brains out you won’t be wrong and your expectations won’t be disappointed. Though the MRP being almost 60k I got it for around 22k which made it a value purchase considering how it performs. It is a premium model so the higher price tag is justified and I already assume that if you are looking for these you have the budget. I’ll divide this review in 4 segments for easier assessment. Packaging: These speakers are huge. It took two people to deliver this product at my doorstep and they were sweating in winter 😛. Though the external amazon’s carton looked slightly tampered the internal Edifier box was in perfect condition and even without the external packaging which had two other items, I had difficulty pulling this box up alone. The box looked good and unboxing experience was good but won’t blow your mind away. Build quality: Put these speakers on your desk with a 27’ or larger monitor and it would look like a battalion in a war. They are these badass. Wooden finish gave these speakers the perfect look to match my home decor and these are built like a tank. You’ll realise these are very high-quality builds as soon as you get your hands on it. I won’t chatter about the technical details as there are other reviews or you may also check out edifier’s official website. Sound quality: Honestly, I have no words to express how I feel regarding this matter. I know there are other more expensive options but for the price it was the highest I purchased in a speaker system so far. Previously I used the Creative T6160 I believe🤔 for 9 years before it broke down. At the time it was 4.5k or something. That sound was epic to me. As you see these complete changed my perspective. 4.5k to 24k in a span of 9 years and it actually “sounds” like an upgrade. It’s like I feel the sound in a completely different manner. Unlike other cheaper solutions where you can complete feel the sound coming from the source, the sound of S350DB stays mixed with the environment. The sound stage is nothing like have experienced so far, it exceeds my expectations. After the burn-in, the sound became even better. The sound dispersion is also good. The highs are smooth and detailed, the mids have life to them and the bass… oh, that’s one of the reasons you might be here for. The sound gets so loud when paired with a high-quality DAC and AMP solution or even a high-quality motherboard, like the one I have, that your neighbours are not gonna like it, especially if you live in an apartment :P. Watch Z_reviews for further information. All in all, a great buy. Would highly recommend this product, even more so if you can get a deal on it. Worth every penny.

THE BEST YOU CAN GET IN THE RANGE OF 20-25K
In one word 'SUPERLATIVE'. Let me try to give it in points: 1. It is heavy, very heavy, the built quality and the weight speak volumes about it. Top notch. 2. Looks stunning with wood finish closures. Adds classy touch to your hall furniture. 3. The sound is so smooth that you would want to listen to it forever. I'm not an audiophile and don't understand the technicalities of mid, high and low but the treble has a dimunitive touch that it doesn't overshadow anything. And the bass is a thumping one that doesn't overpower and gets you curious about the vocal and other things that is going on in the music. I played 'The Good, Bad, Ugly' theme and it was just perfect. With larger display one can easily create a theatre like environment. However this is purely for your music pleasure and not an ideal set for home theatre. 4. All the connectivity options mentioned in the description are correct. You will get all the required wires along with it. 5. Comes well packed in Edifier box and that in turn packed inside an Amazon box. 6. I once experienced listening to Bose. But Bose doesn't come close to it in terms of clarity and originality of the sound. And yes, this will make you forget about those JBL bars that you have been pondering upon since long. This is a light year ahead. Take it or leave it. 7. If you want to 'hear' those bass thumps and jazzy trebles, no details then this is not for you. If you only want to 'listen' to how your favorite numbers actually sound then this is the best option you can get in much lower price than a Bose or high end JBL. I got it in 20100/- in Great Indian sale. Was eyeing for it since long and didn't want to loose this chance. 8. Even considering JBL SB450, luckily the good faith prevailed.

Best alternative for a bookshelf monitor
I was skeptical at first but this speaker blew me away with its performance. Forget about the spec sheet, this speaker is not for those who just want crushing bass noise with no nuance. The music here is so balanced and accurate, the mids are actually mids and highs are crystal clear with precise lows( I kept the bass at +1 for clear lows).Edifier has used digital crossover for achieving such clear frequency separation. Even though its only 2.1, it fills the room with sound and you can never pinpoint where the sounds are coming from. I am using this on my PC with my creative sound blaster ae 7 and its out of the world experience for listening to High resolution 24 bit music. For PC users those who want to buy this, i would suggest to get a decent PCI express discrete sound card and connect it through aux not via SPDIF/Toslink as the analog output gives best sound if your sound card is decent. For those with on board audio, SPDIF is way to go as the onboard Realtek or other cheap card cannot make most of this excellent speaker.

Best value to add bass support for TVs that already have Atmos
The primary purpose for me getting these speakers was to give some oomph (bass) that was lacking in my factory LG OLED55E8PUA speakers. I was already happy with my LG TV's level of detail and expansive + immersive (at least from 180 deg. in front and at ear level) sound from its six front-firing speakers. I couldn't find any standalone subwoofer speaker that could hook up to my LG via digital optical audio cable. Basically, some PC sub + satellite speakers were the only offerings to hook up via optical cable. In terms of looks vs. price, nothing came close to these Edifiers, and styling matters for me. The reviews on sound seemed promising as well, and all I needed was some clean low-end, so I wasn't overly demanding. Setup was exceedingly easy. The 2 year warranty, included optical cable, and excellent fit and finish shows this company is striving to win you over. As for sound, it delivered my needs for bass with aplomb. For those out there looking for full range sound excellence, this is no high dollar, hi-fi speaker. In fact, comparing some streaming sound quality between this through Bluetooth and the $599 retail priced Denon HEOS 7 through WiFi was no comparison in detail. While it trounced the Denon in bass, the Denon wins hands down overall, and I'm sure the available WiFi streaming on the Denon (not avail. on Edifier) helped. At least the Edifier Bluetooth connection stability was rock solid, whereas the Denon was not. The streaming service was through Amazon Music, not a HiFi source like Tidal, but already the difference was big. Edifier claims aptX Bluetooth is a feature on their speakers. The highs and mids sound "timid" and reserved compared to the boomy bass, even with the 2-band EQ set at middling bass and topped out on treble. This was the case for even streaming high quality audio through the optical cable. But these speakers get a big plus for not trying to deliver more than it can, meaning these was no clipping or ugly distortion or any of that stuff at high volumes. The remote needs line-of-sight aiming and is not particularly good at transmitting signals. Numerous have remarked about the round design not be conducive to easy manipulation w/o looking at it in brighter light, but I was fine with it. Despite all the quibbles, you cannot beat these for $299. For $500 and under, it's 4 out of 5 stars. For $299, it's a solid 5 stars. These speakers are an incredible choice if you have a small dwelling like me, value classic looks, and only need to supplement your factory TV's clear highs/mids with some more bass, especially if your factory TV/speakers deliver Atmos and can deliver sound through the internal speakers + optical out like my TV. Forget ugly soundbars for the same price. It's also a great system for any purpose if you're tight on your budget and want something that will hold its own in a party. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: Improve the remote transmission strength, boost the mids/highs gain relative to the bass, look into WiFi streaming. OVERALL: At $299, it's an unbeatable value if looks and big bass are part of your shopping needs.
