Question 1

I purchased this but am still struggling to figure out how it will woth my Nest Thermostat E. There is no "RC" on this thermostat.

Accepted Answer

I have a Nest E. Since it doesn't have an RH port, I just used R. So I have one wire connected to C and another to R (in addition to the existing R wire). I was able to get both wires to fit in the R terminal just fine. I'm not sure if this is officially support or correct (I'm not an electrician), but it seems to have been working fine for the last week. No issues yet, and the thermostat is now getting 200 mA (instead of the 20mA I was getting before without the C wire). My thermostat is now at 3.9V.

Question 2

Nest e: has an r (power) connection, no rc or rh. so i connect one adapter wire to the c, does the other go to the r? what about the existing r wire?

Accepted Answer

Wiring will be different for different devices. All this does is provide the constant power line. This is often the c and RC lines, but can be different.

Question 3

My nest thermostat uses y1, g, rc, w1, and rh. do i use c and double up the rc or rh? or something else? thanks

Accepted Answer

HI
You only need to connect C and RC.
No need to connect RH
thank you

Question 4

Can I power this wire through the wires from my electric outlet and run it through the wall without having the wires show on the outside?

Accepted Answer

You would need to plug the transformer into the outlet, then if you can run the wires inside the wall so they are hidden that would work fine. But that isn't always that easy to do, especially if it needs to be a long wire run. I plugged mine in the mechanical room & connected it to an unused thermostat wire that ran to the thermostat in another room. My original system only used 2 wires, but was wired with a 6 wire cable.
