Sperry Instruments DSA2009TRMS True RMS Digisnap Digital Clamp Meter, 750VAC/1000VDC, 2000A

Bought this primarily for the amp readings but found it hard to get it to read low amperage below around 10amps so it isnt practical for my uses. It is also very big. Alot bigger than I realized when ordering it. For the price I just chose to keep it for the rare instances I need to measure anything over 100 amps.

I was skeptical at first because of the price but I trusted in the Sperry name. And they did not disappoint me I have been using this piece in the field and I find it to be accurate and able to make all the variety of measurements I need to take daily. Also I treated well as I do all my tools but shouldn’t get lost stolen or damaged I can replace it for $50 bucks. Heavy duty feel to it and it takes one 9 V battery which is not included but I’m sure that’s part of how they keep the cost down on the meter so I am fine with that. As an industrial electrician my whole life 30 years in the business this is an economical good choice for electricians of all levels.

Amazed at the build quality and features for such a low price. This thing is very heavy compared to cheap imports with equivalent features. I haven't really used it yet and will update after use to verify accuracy. I mainly bought it for HVAC work and especially for the inrush current feature to check locked rotor amp start up numbers for compressors.
