Perfect for my old basement.but....
we have an unfinished basement with Edison sockets and pull string. I put these in and viola! instant light switch in my hand. only complaint is minor one. I bought the five pack but you can only truly remote 3 zones (bulbs) the other two bulbs will turn on and off via remote, but they cant be individually adjusted like zone bulbs can. Still, this product is awesome for what I needed. Will be buying another 5 pack.updated 1yr later. 2 of the bulbs have died. we rarely use our basement so it is disappointing to know that these LED bulbs clearly dont have the hours other bulbs do. I still like the product for what it is, but I dont think the quality control over build is there.

BEST PURCHASE EVER!
Bought 2 sets of five. These things were amazing! My mother-in-law wanted her chandelier to be able to dim/brighten but we didn't want to have to replace the light switch and purchase new dimmable LED bulbs - this was so quick and easy to install. She also had a light fixture which didn't have an on/off switch so instead of installing one, we just used these bulbs for the light fixture. She loves them because you can also change the "Temperature" (yellow or white light). Each remote is programmed to both fixtures and you can setup up to 4 "areas" on each remote. I'm jealous and now want these for all the lights in my house.

Terrible Smell, wrong language
The product smelled like burnt tires and a chemical factory. Absolutely disgusting. Had to return it. Not as big of a big deal, because it wouldn't be too hard to figure out which button did what, but the remote control did not have English writing as was advertised. However that smell was so bad that it made me feel sick, and that is inexcusable.

Junk
Can not read the directions. Japanese is not my first nor second language. I should have studied it in school, it is very interesting. Can not read the remote. And better than that...Does not work! And obviously I have no clue how to make it work if indeed it should...

Works exceptionally great, but instructions for programing need improvement.
Works great. However, product comes pre-programed for all in one group and the instuctions for grouping them is unclear. By default, the product is pre-programmed to operate all lights in one group. This means the 3 group buttons at bottom of remote labeled "1", "2", and "3" operate all bulbs together at same time.To group a bulb or bulbs to a group button, you must first cancel out of the pre-programmed mode. In my living room, I have 3 lamps and I setup each lamp to its own group button. To setup grouping, do this:Note: Make sure you add batteries to remoteStep 1: Screwing light bulbs in lampsStep 2: By not using remote, turn lamp switches all on (if light isn't lit, click On button at top of remote. This is the 1st button at top of remote)Step 3: Turn each lamp switch off manually (by not using remote) (or just uncrew bulb until it goes off)Step 4: For only one light, turn it on (by not using remote) to show light.Step 5: Once that one light is on, turn it off (manually not using remote) then turn it back on (not using remote) and then using the remote, click 5 times the Off button (2nd button on remote from top)After 5th time, bulb will blink to show it accepted the ungrouping command.Step 6: Without using remote, manually turn that light off using lamp switch or just unscrew bulb.Step 7: Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 for each of the other bulbs. Only do steps 4, 5 and 6 for one bulb at a time. That will unprogram each one.Once all bulbs have each gone through steps 4, 5 and 6, go to Step 8.Step 8: Manually (by not using remote), turn light on then off then on.Step 9: Within 5 or so seconds from doing step 8, use the grouping button on the remote (there are 3 of them: each one labeled "1", "2", "3") that you want to assign the bulb to and click the On button 3 times (the On button is the symbol above the group number that looks like a shining light). The light will blink to show you that it accepted the grouping command. Do steps 8 and 9 for each bulb. For example, if you have a ceiling fan with 2 bulbs, you can assign each bulb to one group by doing steps 8 and 9 for each bulb)If you accidentally group a bulb to the wrong group or just want to change the group of the bulb, do steps 8 and 9. After step 9, to unassign it from the group, click the group's off button 5 times (off button is the circle symbol under the group number). Once ungrouped, repeat steps 8, 9, and 10 to assign it to a new group.
