excellent high quality, made beautifully, detailed and quiet running at all speeds, in the video its running on Bacman EZ track without issue, also couples with a Bachman Caboose via a Walthers car with out issue

The categories Amazon let me rate were odd: sheerness, stretch, giftable. I'd say it was definitely giftable. As for a realistic review, the quality was good. It ran well out of the box. Detailing is quite acceptable for its price. I run my layout DC only. This can be converted to DCC but I didn't look into how complicated that would be. One thing I did notice is it runs backward from my other brand locomotives.

This engine didn't run at all. I took it apart, because I didn't want to wait for yet another replacement locomotive for two weeks. The top of the rear (and front as well) truck has two tabs that are forced into the upper part of the chassis. There the train rest and turns on the truck. What I did was drilled out where the tab was, and screwed the truck to the chassis. I also put a Soundtraxx 885824 Tsunami2 decoder in it, and it runs great. Has good slow speed, and sounds great as well. The broken tab might be a fluke, and I might buy another one. I noticed they raised the price, so maybe not, because I bought it for the low price.

This Walthers diesel runs smooth and quiet. Even with used life like track and old transformer. Fast enough to throw light cars off the rail. I will weight them and get a larger layout. Excellent upgrade to hobby quality. Be sure to lube engine as instructed. I use Rem oil. Will pull all I have and more.

Out of the box worked and ran, very heavy weight HO Scale I love it 8 wheel drive 2 motor 15 20 carts easy pull capacity.

This locomotive by itself pulls 27 peices of rolling stock with ease. And unlike alot of locos the front coupler is a functioning coupler so you can also use it in a switch yard set up. I have 2 if these kinds of engines this santa fe engine and a Pennsylvania rail road one i bought from trainworld.

For some reason this model I've had to return twice. It became quite noisy after about 20mins running at a low speed. I have others of the same GP9 and this version seems to be an issue for me. Both Santa Fe models here.
