Style:Compact Follow Focus Control Kit with Motor Air The PDL-f remote live 2 compact follow focus control harnesses the power and precision of PD movie's popular follow focus systems in a compact control set perfect for both camera stabilizing and traditional camera setups. The PDL-f attaches easily to most rigs. Simply install the precision motor onto either a 15 or 19mm rod and firmly lock its drive gear into the gearing of your lens; its 0.8 pitch gear is compatible with most common cinema lenses. Then, attach the lens control module to your mounting point of choice (less than 1" in diameter), and provide power using the D-tap to Lemo compatible adapter. After installing, simply push the control set's button to start and calibrate the unit. Once you do that, your follow focus is ready to use. With full tactile operation, the PDL-f react according to how you maneuver the control and not to a preset speed or programmed reaction. Its compact size is a Welcome inclusion to your camera rig even those requiring lighter payloads.

Great follow focus...
I only had two issues. One, I charged the remote over night, but it was dead again by the time I wanted to use... later I realized I had left the remote ON after I disconnected the charger for an entire day; my mistake. Fix, remember to power OFF remote after disconnecting charger because it will stay ON. The second issue was a small lens jump (or wobble) after every time the motor started spinning... You don't want that on your videos during a smooth scene. The way I fixed it was very simple. I super tightened the camera plate to the rig to prevent any camera wobble... after that, the motor worked smoothly. Another great feature is the remote clamp can open wide enough to fix on to a handle bar; such as one of the handles on my director's monitor. So far, I'm very happy with LIVE AIR. I will revisit in a few months if anything changes.

Totally worth it! Had it up in running in under a minute l!
This product is awesome! Had it synced up and calibrated within a minute of turning it on! LOVE LOVE LOVE that it is completely wireless. Had a to remove the focus motor from the rail to remove the battery because the battery was really stuck (the battery has really snug fit) which was an inconvenience but a small price to pay for a reliable wireless follow focus solution!

Solid Effort, BATTERIES DO NOT STAY CONNECTED SOMETIMES!!
I LOVE the small size and convenient mounting options for the controller. (See attached photos for differences between this and the Tilta Nucleus Nano Controllers)I LOVE the fact that this is all battery-powered - less cables on my camera rig!I LOVE that it’s got FOUR TIMES the torque of the Tilta Nucleus Nano motor. (.4 newton meters with this vs. .1 newton meters for the Tilta Nano Motor. *Yes, I know the Nano motor makes much more power with a D-Tap battery connection. But I’m looking for LESS cabling on my rig!)What I DON’T LOVE is that the battery CONSTANTLY loses connection with the Motor. Ikan/PD Movie sent me a replacement motor, and it STILL doesn’t work properly. The power/battery connection to the motor is VERY fragile. Even gravity makes a difference; mouthing the motor upside down so the battery slides DOWN, the battery/power connection seems to be MUCH more consistent.I’m gonna keep testing this system out, but unless Ikan/PD Movie can address this issue, I’ll be returning it and sticking with my Tilta Nano.
