Excellent build quality & performance
I liked these Pexio SK-5 Steel Blade Anvil Pruning 8" shears so much after my first use, I came back to buy a second one 'just in case'! I've purchased many of these types of garden tools over the years, but rarely do I find one for less than thirty dollars (I paid ten...) that is well made and works as hoped. This one is a great find in its build-quality and performance. The tool is metal, not plastic and the blade is very sharp. The cutting action is smooth up to 3/4" diameter sticks and vines. I'd say it's best to stay in the 1/2" range for comfort and maximizing the effectiveness of this shear. I used it on both blackberry vines and rosebushes out of the package and was very happy with how well it worked on both. One issue I initially had was the slide lock not wanting to open. It took a great deal of force to free it and open the blades, but I am optimistic that over time and with use, this will ease.NOTE: If you try to cut a branch over the 3/4" diameter size, you'll have to use a great deal more grip strength than if you keep the branches small. Hand fatigue would be the biggest issue, however, I would guess that the thicker the branches the more likely the blade could be damaged too.As stated before, I like it so much I immediately went back to Amazon and ordered a second one at a stellar price. I'm all set for spring, summer and fall pruning of bushes on my property. The Plexio SK5 (not the Titanium) is what I purchased and I'd recommend it to others.

Nice Heavy duty made and super sharp out of the packaging.
Okay got it during the Lightning deal. Not bad at all. The body is mainly aluminum with red dipped plastic handles coating. I like the aluminum handle because they are shaped to be comfortable in your hand, so that with the red dipped plastic handles coating it adds to how comfortable it conforms to your handNow you see those black gear shapes on the blade joint area, those are only for show. They don't serve any functional purpose. I like the titanium gold colored blade, it is very sharp and well oiled. There is a locking clip that seems a bit awkward but it is heavy duty enough that I don't see them breaking off at all. Just that it sticks out a bit.Now it also has a lifetime warranty, so that is good to know.Otherwise its a pretty decent Bypass Pruning shear for the money.

Highly recommend
I have gone through a lot of cheap shears and these were on sale and decided to buy them. I had an overgrown hedge in the back of my yard that I had been ignoring for a while, so I wanted to try them out. I probably did a years worth of pruning in a two day period. These shears performed great. I had to further cut the shrubs into 2 foot length for regular trash pick up. Again they worked perfectly. Have two days of hard work they appear as sharp as the first cut. Highly recommend.

fabulous shears!
Another review commented that the lock engages. I have had it happen but it does not bother me at all. I really like these shears. My hands get sore from cutting, but these are very easy to squeeze and I can work in the garden for hours. They are a very high quality shear and I recommend them without reservation!

"Quirky"
Worked very well at first. The blades are very sharp. After several uses I noticed that I had to cut at a certain angle, depending on which way I was coming at the branch, in order to get a clean cut. If I didn't, the pruners would just "mash" up the branch without even severing it. Also, the spring pops off when you set it down sometimes, so you have to keep an eye on the garage floor in case it is rolling around. If you haven't guessed it by now, yes, I have discontinued using these and have replaced them with pruners from Home Depot. Fiskars?

Fabulous instructions!!!
Quite decent shears, but what made it even better were the instructions. I’ll quote only two of the four:“When trim is too near the sprout, then the sprout does not come out on associate president.”And “When trim prunes the surface too to incline, will then injure the plant.”On the other hand I certainly couldn’t do better in Chinese. Now I’m sure I would not do as well in Chinese or whatever.

Quality pruners you want
I've used them a few times over the couple months since I got them, and they seem to be what I'd hoped for. Quite sharp, and the closure works properly. The closure is a plastic material, so these can't be abused and expected to be like new for long. But with proper care these pruners ought to be strong and useful for many years. These are a good value.
